Chapter 10

The day of the raid has finally arrived.

We spent a lot of days to train and prepare for the operation, and so everything that we've worked so far are about to be put to the test on this faithful night.

Mutsuki and Juuzo have already met up with Nutcracker, I can only hope for the best.

Urie, Shirazu, Saiko, Haise and I are currently sitting inside a CCG van with a few other investigators.

Saiko yawned as the van dashed into the streets.

Urie was asleep; at least I think he was.

Shirazu was deep in his thoughts.

Next to me, a worried Haise sat with a serious and deep look on his face.

I bet he's worrying about Mutsuki and Juuzo.

I sighed and put a comforting hand on top of one of his hands.

He lightly blushed as he quickly turned around to face me.

I smiled.

Haise instantly knew my intentions and he gave me a reassuring smile.

Mutsuki, Juuzo, I hope the two of you can come back safe.

No, I'm sure that the two of you will come back safe.

And so, the operation begins.

We stood in front of the building near the CCG vans with the other investigators.

The building in which the auction took place is a grand meeting place.

It's not that hard to believe that a lot of rich ghouls were inside the building.

The tensions around the investigators were quite high; everyone seems to be focused.

We all waited anxiously for Washuu's order.

Urie fixed his gloves while Saiko and Shirazu gazed around the area.

Akira, Shimoguchi and Hirako were on the other side of us with a few of their underlings.

Haise kept a focused gaze towards the building.

I tightened my grip on my suitcase as the voice that we've all been waiting for were heard through our earpieces.

"Start attacking," Washuu said in his serious voice, "For all squads; Mission number one: exterminate all the ghouls that are inside. Especially Big Madame, make sure to finish her off. There's a possibility that Aogiri is involved, but don't let the chance slip away."

Akira gave a few orders to her underlings as Washuu continued.

"Mission number two," Washuu said, "Save the nearby citizens. Prioritize the safety of those who were kidnapped."

We all got into our positions.

Suddenly, a worried voice filled our earpieces.

"A fight has occurred in the front lines!" the voice said, "The White Suits! It's Naki from Aogiri! Please send help-"

The voice was then cut off.

"Tateshima and the Isai Squad, follow me!" Akira ordered, "We'll take care of the White Suits."

I look at my comrades and gave them a supportive smile.

It's time we took action.
