Chapter 19

"Hey, wait, Urie!"

Urie stopped after he opened the front door.

Shirazu and I stood behind him with concerned looks on our faces.

"Haven't I told you to not act by your own?" Shirazu scolded.

Urie turned his head and faced Shirazu.

He then frowned.

"I won't accept orders from someone who can't even use their new quinque when the kagune that he has isn't even that good," Urie said.

Shirazu's widened.

Urie scoffed and then left.

I opened the door and caught up with Urie.

"Wait!" I called.

Urie stopped when he reached the gate of the Chateau.

He turned around.

"Don't you think it's too risky?" I asked, "At least take me with you."

"Thank you," Urie said, "But you've done enough."

Urie smiled.

I gasped as he then walked away.

He just smiled....

I sighed and entered the Chateau.

"Did he listen?" Shirazu asked.

I shook my head.

Shirazu sighed.

"What do you say we take a walk?" I offered, "Walks are often good to clear your head."

Shirazu chuckled.

"How much do you like to take walks?" he said.

Shirazu and I sat on the edge of a hill.

Below us was a group of children who were playing some kind of sport.

"Hey!" a kid yelled, "Where should I throw it?"

They kept on playing as Shirazu and I stared off into the distance.

Shirazu was probably thinking about his sister and how he needed more money.

I sighed.

I guess I could get him a jackpot.

But then, he would have to kill me.

I chuckled internally; am I really that kind?

Suddenly, we heard a voice.

"Oh, you two are from Sasaki's group."

We both snapped out of our thoughts and saw the newcomer.

"Fura-san," I greeted with a smile.

"Hey," he greeted the both of us.

Fura then sat down next to Shirazu.

As Shirazu told him what was on his mind, I lay down on the grass and looked at the clouds.

Fura took out his cigarette and started smoking.

"You can't use your quinque?" Fura said, "Well, this isn't the first time I've heard stories like this. It's normal for beginners."

"Sassan-I mean, Investigator Sasaki also said the same thing," Shirazu said.

"I also can't use the quinque that I got from the last ghoul that I killed," Fura admitted.
