Chapter 15

Around three in the morning, I heard a scream coming from Shirazu's room.

I quickly sat up on my bed.

"Shirazu...?"

I then jumped out of my bed and went to the kitchen to fetch some water.

After that, I went to Shirazu's room.

I knocked on the door.

"Shirazu?" I said loud enough for him to hear, "It's me, Y/N."

I opened the door to see Shirazu sitting on his bed.

He was panting.

When he realized my presence, he turned around to see me standing near the door.

"L/N-chan..?"

"Are you okay?" I asked while closing the door, "You screamed pretty loud. I thought something bad happened."

Shirazu stayed quiet when I sat on the edge of his bed.

I gave him the glass of water.

"Thanks," Shirazu said.

He then finished the drink and gave the glass back to me.

"Now are you going to tell me what happened?" I asked while putting the glass on his table.

Shirazu lowered his head and sighed.

"N-Nothing, it's just a nightmare..." he said quietly.

I pouted; I guess Nutcracker's still bothering him.

"Hey," I said.

I then held both of his hands.

"It's going to be okay," I said with a smile.

Shirazu lightly blushed and nodded with a smile.

"Thank you, L/N-chan," he said.

"Y/N is fine," I said.

I was about to walk towards the door when Shirazu grabbed the back of my shirt.

I turned around in confusion.

"I-If you don't mind," Shirazu said quietly, "Can you stay until I fall asleep?"

I blinked my eyes for a while.

I then chuckled.

"Sure," I said.

Shirazu laid on his bed. After that, I sat on the edge of his bed again.

I rubbed his head gently and waited for him to sleep.

After a few minutes, Shirazu drifted off to sleep.

I smiled to myself.

He looks like a kid when he sleeps.

I stood up and picked up the empty glass.

"Sleep tight, Shirazu," I said quietly, "Today's going to be a pretty hard day for you."

I then left.

"This is..."

Shirazu, Haise, Koitsu and I stood inside the CCG Research Department.

In front of us and on the table, was Nutcracker as a quinque.

"You're really lucky!" Koitsu said, "It's rare to get a natural chimera quinque, you know!"

Shirazu stared at the suitcase.

"What's wrong, Shiragin-kun?" Koitsu asked, "Try and open it."
