What felt like forever, was quickly interrupted by Corey clearing his throat while standing outside the front door.
Joey and I looked at eachother like we were deer in headlights. As soon as I saw Corey's face, I jumped up and ran back inside. I went straight to my bedroom and shut the door as fast as I could. The walls in this house are paper thin, I could hear when Corey and Joey finally came inside. I sat in the floor with my back against the door as I heard someone walking up the steps, then knock on my door.
"Stephanie. Please open the door." It was Joey. I slowly stood up and cracked the door open, just enough to see his face.
"Can I come in?" He asked in a soft spoken tone. I opened the door enough to let him in, then shut the door once he sat down on the bed.
"I'm sorry about what happened. And I'm sorry Corey had to see that. On his front porch none the less," Joey started, "Once you ran inside, he didn't say a word. He just looked at me, and watched as I walked in and came up here." He laid down on the bed and covered his face with his hands while I sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Joey, there's nothing to be sorry about. I'll talk to Corey."
I grabbed a change of clothes and went down the hall to the bathroom. I changed into an old Motoey Crue shirt I had stolen from Corey and a pair of black jeans I forgot I had left here. After I brushed my teeth and fixed my hair, i made my way down stairs. I found Corey making coffee in the kitchen.
"Um, good morning" I said to him while he had his back to me.
"Morning" he said quietly. "Care to explain what I found you two doing?"
"I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I started cleaning and it woke him up. I didnt mean for it to happen Corey, but it did." I hate it when he gets mad at me, I always feel like I disappoint him. Corey continued to stand with his back to me until he turned around and handed me a coffee cup.
"I made it the way you like it. Cream, no sugar." Corey stated.
"Thank you" I was barely able to speak at this point. He kept looking at me while I stared at the coffee.
"I just dont want you to get hurt Steph. I know how Joey is, and he will end up breaking your heart. And neither of us want that." He admitted while taking a sip from his own cup.
"Corey, you have nothing to worry about. It was just a kiss. He hasn't even asked me out on a date." But I wish Joey would.
"Juat remember, whatever happens, I better stay in the loop." He stated while walking over to me and flipping me on the nose.
"No worries Corey, you'll always be my number one." I said with a small giggle.
"Good"
