"Shut the fuck up, you sorry sack of shit!" I hear Corey yell from the studio.
"Fuck you Corey. You think you're all high and mighty because you got the girl. One day she will realize what you really are. What you've been hiding from her." Joey yelled back.
I was sitting in the living room, watching tv. The guys had left the basement door open so I could hear them recording. We all knew things would blow up between Corey and Joey, we didn't expect it to happen today.
"Don't fucking walk away from me Joey." Corey continued to yell.
"What the fuck are you going to do? You already swooped in and stole Stephanie from me. It wasn't enough yall were friends, you just had to fuck her too..."
I tried my best to ignore the yelling. But once I heard those words fly out of Joey's mouth, I stood up and slammed the basement door shut.
Then I heard someone run up the steps, and someone behind them. When the door opened, I wasn't back to the couch yet, and was face to face with Craig and Paul.
"We had to get out of the danger zone." Paul spoke up with Craig nodding his head behind him.
I could still hear them yelling at eachother in the studio but couldn't tell what was being said. Then I hear Mick yell "That's fucking enough! Everyone upstairs!"
It sounded like a herd of elephants coming up the stairs. One by one, the guys entered the living room. I decided that I would go outside and let them handle this.
I walked up to Corey and whispered in his ear that I would be outside if they needed me. He nodded his head and kissed my cheek before making his way to sit down beside Mick and Sid. Before I made it to the front door, I turned around to see Paul behind me.
"I'm going with you. No way I'm going to be put in the middle of this shit." Paul said while trying to move me faster out the door.
Once we sat down on the front steps, we both lit up a cigarette and laid back into the porch.
"So what the fuck is going on?" I asked while looking up at the sky.
"Joey made some comment about you then they started yelling at eachother. "
"I could hear them yelling. That's why I slammed the door shut."
"And that's when Craig and I knew shit was going to go down." Paul said laughing. "We ran up those steps before any punches were thrown."
All of a sudden, Sid runs out the door.
"We need you guys in here now!" Sid somewhat yelled.
Paul and I jumped up, throwing our cigarettes into the yard and running inside.
In the hallway, we found Corey on top of Joey punching him in the face.
"Corey! Stop!" I yelled while running over to try and get him off of Joey.
"You stupid fucker." Corey kept yelling in Joey's face in between punches.
"Come on man. That's enough!" Paul yelled while trying to help me get Corey up.
Blood was flowing onto the floor before Corey finally decided he was done. Joey rolled over, coughing and spitting out blood. Corey sat down a few feet away from him on the floor with his back against the wall. I kneeled down in front of him and moved his hair out of his face.
"Do you feel better?" I asked quietly while putting my hands on each side of Corey's face. I could tell Joey got in a few punched himself.
Corey smirked and looked at me.
"Always babe." He said with a grin.
"Come on. Lets go get you cleaned up." I said while helping Corey stand up.
"Hey Paul, will you help get Joey cleaned up?" I asked while looking at Joey, who was still laying on the floor.
"No problem Steph." Paul, Chris, and Jim all jumped up and started trying to get Joey to stand up.
"Holler if you need help guys." I told them before helping Corey up the steps to our bathroom.
Once in our room, I shut the door and had Corey sit on the edge of the bed.
"Care to explain what happened?" I asked while washing Corey's face.
"He kept talking shit and I had to shut him up." Corey said while looking at the floor.
"Is that why you about beat him to a bloody pulp? He was talking shit?" I raised my voice, making him look at me.
"He was talking shit about you babe." He said while slowly looking up at me.
"Well I think he got the message to keep his mouth shut." I said while I started to clean one of Corey's hands.
"I will say one thing Taylor, you can throw one hell of a punch" I giggled.
Corey laughed and grabbed my hand.
"I love you babe." He said while pulling me in for a kiss.
"I love you too." I whispered in between kisses.
A knock on our door brought us back to reality. "Guys?" I heard Shaun say through the door.
"Come in" I yelled while standing up.
"When you're done, come outside to the pool. We are getting the firepit together and I'm ordering food." Shaun said while walking over to Corey and putting his hand on his shoulder.
"You okay man?" He asked Corey.
"Yeah, I am. Needed to get that shit taken care of." Corey said while smiling at Shaun.
"Alright man. We'll be outside."
I helped Corey change into a different shirt and we made our way outside. Chris came over and gave us each a beer. Looking around, I still didn't see Paul, Sid or Joey.
"Hey babe,..." I said to Corey.
"I'm going to go make sure the others are okay. I'll be back in a minute." I kissed him on the cheek and he nodded his head.
"Paul? Sid?" I yelled from the kitchen.
"Down here!" Sid yelled from the studio.
I walked down the stairs and found them in the small bathroom trying to clean Joey up.
"It doesn't take this long to clean someone up guys." I said with a giggle.
"Shut up Steph." Paul fired back with a grin on his face.
"Are you okay Joey?" I asked while standing in the doorway.
He wouldn't answer me, he just kept staring at me like he wished he was somewhere else.
"If yall need any help, I'll be outside by the pool. Shaun ordered food too, so come eat when you're ready." I said while trying to sound reassuring.
"Thanks Steph. We will be up in a little bit." Sid said while I walked back upstairs.
"Everything alright?" Corey asked while I sat back down beside him.
"Yeah. They are just slow as shit." I laughed.
"That they are babe. Did he talk to you?" Corey asked while looking at his beer.
"No baby, he didn't. Don't think we will have to worry about that anymore. " I said while running my hand over his back.
"Pizza is here!" Jim yelled while bringing five large pizza boxes to the patio table.
While eating, I kept my eye on Corey and Joey. Neither one looked in the other's direction nor did they talk while the other was around. I can only hope the rest of our time here will go smoothly and less bloody.
