Today is the day.
The day I become his wife.
I have been nervous all morning and I can't stop thinking about what would happen if he changes his mind. Paul says it's just pre-wedding jitters; I hope he's right.
I'm sitting in our bedroom, looking at myself in the mirror. My dress hits the floor just enough to cover my feet, my hair is styled in loose waves, and my makeup is minimal. I was pulled out of my thoughts by a knock at the door.
"Stephanie. It's time." I hear Jim say through the door.
I stand up, giving myself one more look over before opening the door.
"Are you ready?" I hear Paul say from behind Jim.
They are both looking me with smiles plastered on their faces.
"As long as I don't throw up, I'm ready." I replied.
Paul followed me down the steps while Jim walked in front of me to get everyone in place. Paul and I stood in the kitchen for a moment and he engulfed me in a hug.
"Love you girl. You are going to be a great wife. And maybe some day you'll make me an uncle." I felt him smirk against my shoulder.
"Love you too Pauly." I pulled away from the hug and fixed his shirt.
The guys were all dressed in black dress shirts with black pants. As we stepped out the back door, everyone stood up and watched as Paul walked me down to Corey. Shawn had music playing as we walked, a song that Corey picked of course. It was his rendition of Wicked Game that he sang with his acoustic guitar.
I could feel the tears forming in my eyes as we got closer. Once we made it, Paul gave me another hug and kissed my cheek before handing me to Corey.
His blue eyes were shining bright and he looked so good in his black shirt.
We exchanged vows and placed our rings on each other's fingers.
"You may now kiss the bride." The preacher stated.
Corey looked at me with his devilish grin and held my face in his hands. We shared a passionate kiss while all the guys started hollering and cheering.
The night was filled with celebrating. We all drank too much and danced until the sun started to come up.
"How about I take my beautiful bride to bed?" Corey growled in my ear.
Without saying a word, I jumped up and grabbed Corey's hand. Leading him up stairs. Before we made it to our bedroom door, Corey picked me up bridal style and carried me in while I giggled.
Throwing me down on the bed, he straddled me while unzipping my dress. I gave him a peck on the lips before he connected our mouths. His tongue fought mine like he would never see me again. I broke the kiss to finish taking my dress off. Corey managed to get out of his clothes, leaving nothing on but his boxers.
He reconnected our lips while tugging on my bottom lip with his teeth.
What was supposed to be our first romantic night as husband and wife was quickly ruined.
I felt a sudden rush of sickness run through my body. I push Corey off of me and run to the bathroom where I expelled the contents of my stomach.
Corey ran in behind me and rubbed my back while he held my hair.
"Looks like too much celebrating for you Mrs. Taylor." He said with a small giggle in his voice.
"Sorry I don't do this often, Mr. Taylor" i managed to say in between vomiting.
Once my stomach finally calmed down and I was able to brush my teeth, Corey helped me to the bed.
"Get some sleep baby. We can have our fun when you are feeling better." He whispered in my ear then kissed my forehead.
Before too long I could hear him snoring behind me. I still felt uneasy and it was hard to fall asleep.
I picked up my phone and texted Paul.
"Hey, when you get up, will you go with me to the store?"
A few minutes later, I got a reply.
"Why not have Corey take you?"
"Paul....I need to get a pregnancy test."
