"Izuku, it's time for breakfast!" Said his mother from the kitchen. Today was an important day, for today was when they would go see the Quirk Specialist. Her son barely touched the floor as he realized this."Mommy, mommy, it's time to see the doctor about my quirk right?!" Exclaimed the little boy.
"Yes it is, but you have to eat your breakfast first."
Izuku was at the table in a flash. How he managed to get onto the chair was one question. And how fast he went was another.
Tiny Time Skip
Izuku and his mother were sitting in the office when the doctor called in with the results.
"Well m'am, according to the test results your sons quirk won't come out, he's practically quirkless!!" Said the doctor.
Never really liked doctors
Izuku took a minute before he processed what the doctor said. "What do you mean my quirk won't come out? What's he talking about mommy?"
Inko looked at the doctor. "My thoughts exactly, why won't his quirk come out?"
The doctor sighed, "his brain is keeping it stored away for fatal or strongly emotional uses only. If his life were near- death, then his quirk will show. Quite simple really."
Inko didn't know what to say. Her sons quirk wouldn't show unless he was near death. That means, if he comes home with a quirk one day, then he would've died??? What was a mother supposed to think?
With a shaky "Okay" she took her son and left.
Tiny Time Skip #2
Izuku sat on his bed crying. He was quirkless, that must mean he couldn't be a hero. Quirkless people never become heroes. They were useless. That's what Kacchan said.
"Quirkless people are just lazy, useless, cowards that need protecting. Right Izu?"
Izuku, who hadn't known what to say, said what felt right.
"Yeah, quirkless people are useless!"
Now his heart aches at the words he recalls. His tiny sobs could be heard through the door, and Inko felt as if she had failed. There was nothing she could do, and it hurt.
"Izuku, dinners ready."
He came out of his room, hands to his eyes. Trying to smile at the thought of his mother.
At the table, it was silent. Izuku, who didn't care to speak, and Inko, who had nothing to say, sat there and slowly chewed. Though neither felt like eating.
Finally, as Izuku stood up to place his dishes in the sink, his mother spoke.
"Izuku, listen, you can still be a hero, no matter what they say. Your not quirkless, it's just hiding until it's needed. I just, " she sighed before breaking.
"I'm sorry Izuku, I'm so sorry" cried his mother. "I'm sorry that I can't do more to help you!"
Inko expected her son to turn away, to go back to his room, to do the dishes, any and everything except speak.
"I know mom, I know." She looked up.
"I'll become a hero, I promise." His fist raises into the air, "especially for you!"
