Inko sighed as she traveled up stairs, she had, yet again, stubbed her toe, but it's not her fault, everybody stubs their toes on new stairs. Yes, new. With some more recent developments Inko had to buy a house, and she was very passive aggressive towards the stairs that seemed to hate her. Alas, she wouldn't travel up or down them if she didn't have to, but how else would she reach the other family members rooms? With Dabi in the basement, Tenko in the attic, Toga, Izuku, and Eri (who slept in Izuku's room most of the time) on the second floor and Kurogiri in the bedroom on the first floor next to her's, stairs were apart of her daily life.
Today she would suck up that pain of hurting her toes every three steps, today was important, today was the UA Enterance Exam, Dabi was already awake and Kurogiri was kind enough to take over on breakfast. Inko did not want the usual anime protagonist 'grab a bite and leave' morning, she wanted time to wish them good luck.
"Himiko, sweetie, it's time to get up." Inko knocked on Toga's door and spoke in a soft tone, she smiled and ruffled the tired girls messy buns when she finally opened the door, "Kuro is making breakfast so hurry and get dressed." They both knew Inko didn't actually mean to hurry. Toga nodded slowly and closed the door, Inko made her way to Izuku's room, where she wasn't surprised to see Eri open the door, showered, fully dressed and holding a notebook in her hand. Izuku was standing behind her, hair tied up in two pigtails. "Oh my! What lovely hair you have today, Izuku, won't you tell me who did it?"
Eri blushed as Izuku played along, "Why it was this stunning darling right here! A master in the making if I do say so myself, and I'm certain I do." Izuku reached down and tickled her, making Eri squeal. When she got lose she rushed into Toga's room, and by the laughter heard from inside, did some tickling herself.
"Are you excited, Izuku?" His mother whispered to him.
"Yeah, kind of nervous too."
Inko smiled widely, "Understandable, but just remember that Himiko, Tenko, and Touya will be there two, and you know Eri is allowed to be with you or Bakugo at all times." She kissed him on the forehead, "You'll be fine, now go eat!" She swatted at Izuku's hair and chuckled as he rushed down the stairs. She snorted when she heard him groan, he was just like his mother, stairs did not like him.
Everybody in the house was like each other one way or another, if not for their different appearances people would think they were related. Izuku, Eri, and Toga were all very smiley. Tenko, Izuku, and Dabi all had sarcastic sides, very, very, sarcastic sides, and a shared love of dark humor. Dabi and Tenko were both the eldest. Kurogiri was as much of a mom as Inko, and had the same exasperated sigh that Eri gave off when they teased her to much. Inko and Tenko both loved to cook. Dabi didn't even try to hide the fact that he loved to clean as much as Izuku or Inko did, often gossiping about cleaning products with them. They were truly one big family.
Some of the more snotty families often said that they all were a perfect match due to their quirks, every single person in that house had a 'bad' quirk, a dangerous quirk. Izuku didn't know this, but a way back Inko had been known as 'Hair Trigger', her quirk often sent things into the air when she was startled, and with one big accident when she got to angry..... it was best to leave the past in the past. Only Mitsuki and Masaru knew about Inko's backstory and it was a silent vow to keep it hidden.
Inko snapped out if her daze when Toga tapped her on the shoulder, "Are you okay, mom?" Yes, Inko had told them it was okay to call her mom. That made three in the house.
"Yes, yes, I'm coming," Inko sent a false hate filled gaze at the stairs, "I just don't like the large problem we have in our house." Toga and Eri laughed while they followed Inko down the stairs, she took large, unnecessary steps.
The kitchen was just about filled. Tenko sat on the counter handing spices to Kuro, Kurogiri was bustling at the stove, Dabi was fuming about the state the kitchen was in, and Izuku was setting the plates down. Toga ran over and got the cups out of the cupboard and began asking around for what they wanted to drink, Eri keeping track on the tiny notepad of her's. Inko made her way to counter opposite of Tenko and began chopping and mixing ingredients. It was a full kitchen, but a happy one.
"Alright." Inko said once they all sat down, "Today you're all going to try your best, right?"
"Yes, ma'am!"
"And you're going to remember all of the studying you did, right?"
"Yes, ma'am!"
"And," Kuro chimed in, "You're going to remember how much you mothers love you, right?"
"Yes, ma'am!!"
"Good, now let's eat."
It would be stereotypical to say the continued eating in silence so it's a good thing they didn't, jokes and insults flew around the table like wildfire, ceasing their anxiety. Until the high time came. Everyone double checked their shoe laces before heading out the door (except Eri, she had Velcro shoes), Kurogiri and Inko stood in the door waving goodbye and shouting good lucks, the teens and child rounded the corner and out of their sight.
