Chapter 18: Soldiers Assemble

In the King's bedroom, Miranda was arguing with Roland as Walt magically appeared behind the curtains without them knowing "If YOUR father was the one who ruled the kingdom before you... then HE must have been the one who ordered the Royal Guard to hunt down my previous lover!" Miranda Growled. "Previous lover? Honey, what are you talking about?" Roland Responded, but then he realized something "Wait, you mean... your first husband?", "Yes..." Miranda Said tearfuly "But we never married... we never even had a chance to arrange a wedding. But it didn't even matter in the end... because after a few short dates, he told me that he had apparently lost his whole family during a war his home kindgom was involved in...". The King was completely lost for words "Oh my..." He Gasped "That's... that's terrible!", "You have no idea..." Miranda Replied flatly, then she walked over and sat down on a chair extremely close to the curtains. However, just as she did, she noticed Walt standing behind it and gasped in surprize "Oh, my goodness! Walt!?" She Gasped. Roland rushed over "Mr. Disney, what are you doing here!?" He Exclaimed, "Ensuring the pair of you are not falling out like before" Walt Glared back "I am trying my absolute hardest to try and assist you in making sense of the current situation, Roland; and yet, it seems you are indeed making some form of progress. So, now you know why your wife was the widow she once was the day you first met, and about how her loved one was chased out of the kingdom... and how both he and young Ethan had no choice be to remain on the run-" suddenly the doors burst open and a sobbing little princess rushed in "Mom, dad," She said tearfully. "My goodness. Sofia!?" Miranda Gasped "Are you alright? What's wrong?", the Queen immidietely left her seat to confort her daughter "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I can't take it anymore!", "Sofia, calm down," Roland soothed her "It's ok... tell us what the matter is", Sofia took a deep breath and told them what exactly she was so upset about.

5 Brief Minutes Later

"What!?" Gasped the King "You mean to tell us you knew where your brother was the enitre time? And you never told us!?", "I'm sorry, dad," Sofia Sobbed "I couldn't stay quiet any longer, I felt terrible after lying to you... I just had to come clean". "Sofia, what have we said about keeping secrets from us?" Miranda told her "I thought you'd learnt from this a long time ago", "I'm very dissapointed in you, young lady" Roland Frowned. He then let out a long sigh "Look, I know you were being a good sister and keeping a promise for your big brother, but at the end of the day, we're your parents. It's far more important to tell either one of us about these kinds of problems right away, even if that means breaking a promise to a sibling younger OR older". Walt was impressed on how King Roland handled his step-daughter's emotional breakdown, but he wasn't ready to fully forgive him anytime soon "I'm pleased with how well you handled that" He Decleared "I suppose you are worthy of a second chance after all", "Thank you, Mr. Disney" Roland Said forming a small smile "I promise I WILL do better, I just can't help being stern and hot-headed at times. Especialy after being physicaly punched in the head and all". "Well, just try to keep your 'Cool' in the future, he is your son at the end of the day" Walt Decleared, "I will, I promise" the King Replied "Now, if you don't mind, I have a search party to assemble". "What's going to happen, dad?" Sofia Asked, "We're going to find your brother" Her father Replied. "AND set things right with him?" His wife Asked, Roland turned around and gave her a brief reasurring smile "Of course" He Said. But then his face turned back to looking serious "Now, let's go and begin the hunt for the latest member of our family. Sofia, you go and let James and Amber know that they'll be going to bed late", "Why is that, dad?" Sofia curiously Asked, "Because they'll be joining us on the hunt, and so are you" her father Replied "It's a family effort, and that's final". Sofia knew that he had a point, considering she held the title of 'Protector of the Ever Realm' "Okay, I'll join you as soon as I can" She responded and she set off to find her step-brother and sister. As Roland and his wife walked towards the door, Walt began to magically fade away, but before he did, he said a sentence in a stern and serious voice that sent a shiver down the King's spine "May the forge be with you". The head of the royal family began shaking in fear "What's wrong, Rollie?" the Queen Asked, "Nothing honey" He Replied "I'm just worried about Ethan, he may have proven himself time and time again, but that doesn't mean we should take all this lightly", he and his wife then left in a hurry.
