(Y/n) POV

Day after day I train with Kaede and see that I am indeed improving greatly. Bonds with everyone were too, I do my rounds with Miroku, I help others with Sango, I play and give peace to the children with Shippo. The only thing that has declined was my friendship with Inuyasha. I would nod to him. He would look away and we just kept walking to our desire, but distinct destinations.

My being to my duty and his being with the girl, Kagome. I tried to be friendly towards her, by offering my help, though she would refuse and gave me glares and made faces at anything I did. I brushed off the feel of her ugly dislike of me. Whatever got her like that makes me pity her.

I stride until my field came in my line of sight. A sense of relief came over me witnessing others taking in the peacefulness of the scene. I would say they came for the view of the flowers I had added. A few rows of roses and lilies here and there, to give the once plain territory a new sense of life. As I strolled along the section I found a little boy looking at me, he looked terrified. Searching me for what I believe to be a sense of safety or it might be to identify any dangers I might bring upon him.

I soften my glance and gave him the sweetest smile I could muster. I supposed he relaxed, which was what I gathered noticing his shoulder lax. I squatted until I came to his eye level, he responded by scooting back a bit. I cleared my throat while thinking about what to say to him. I guess I should start simple. "Hey there, I am (Y/n). Umm, do you like roses? I planted them just yesterday, I also didn't know this many people would come. Are you with someone? Mom? Dad?"

Tears welled up in his big (E/c) eyes almost making me do the same. Slowly shaking his head as a no, I thought for a moment. "How about you come to walk with me?" I wouldn't mind him tagging along, I mean he hasn't said a word, what trouble could he be? He eyed me closely, taking me all in, I mean literally. He came up close and looked me up and down, side to side. My height and the way my skin was baking into the tan I wanted, and the way I stood. I could tell, seeing him copying my stance. He then sighed while holding out his small hand, signaling me to hold it.

I smiled down at him and took his in my slightly larger one. The pace we set out for us would match the one of a little worm making our way to the center. I talked endlessly about anything that came in sight. I did it to get word to come from him. I waited for a 'Stop' or a 'Shhh' to put an end to my blabbering. I turned my gaze to the young child seeing him stare back at me. I cleared my throat. ' Is he actually listening to me?' I lead him to the end of our walk and sat him down for a talk. Obsidian colored eyes looked deeply at (E/c). I sighed and started off the interrogation disguised as a "talk".

"Well you know my name, it's (Y/n), just in case you forgot." He shook his head saying in a silence 'No'. "I didn't catch your name?" He pointed to his lips and swayed his head left and right. "Ahhh I understand. Do you have a name?" That earned me a pause and a thoughtful expression. Somehow I could understand him, I mean I guess he did have one but something must have happened and now he wanted a new one. I didn't catch myself as it came out of me. It stunned both, him because that's what he was thinking (He nodded to show I was right) and me because it came to my mind.

After a few moments of taking it all in, I decided to ask him a question. "Would you want me to pick one out for you?" It wasn't the question he wanted me to inquire, but I didn't dwell on it much. He thought for a moment and then agreed. I racked my brain to find one suitable for him. I tapped my finger on my chin and then on my head. Hoping that maybe the answer would just pop in. And sure enough, it did. "What if I call you Kiyoshi?" I mean it means pure, saintly, and not to mention the quiet one. He thought it was a great idea since he nodded his head.

After a while of my explaining about the flowers, I saw his half-lidded eyes. Taking that as a sign I decided that bringing him with me was the best option. Seeing as he didn't have anyone else, I took it upon myself to be his someone. I held my arms out beckoning him to walk over for me to pick him out. From the few hours that I knew him, I expect him to analyze the length and width of my arms. I could see he was too tired to function probably, that would explain why he shot like a bullet into my outstretched hands. I wrapped one underneath the other and hauled him up. He coiled his little legs around me and tucked his head in my neck. As he sighed in relaxation, I smiled.
