*Inuyasha's Pov*

'We've been at it for a while now. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep going.' My breathing became heavy to being almost non-existing. My body aches with the pressure of my movements. With every strike, my bones screamed with pain telling me to stop.

I had a moment that my vision was fleeting from me as well. It would turn black to only be blinked back to color. Everything felt wrong with me. However, my mind was persisting to keep going, to not give up even if the chances are slim.

"Give up Inuyasha! You can't win against me. I hate to be the one to ends your life. For Milady, I'll do anything." She yelled as she swung a blade that appeared from thin air. It edged closer to my chests as she flared wildly.

My entire lower body felt dead. I could barely hold up myself up with the pain that ran through every nerve in my body. She had the upper hand. An advantage that was unfair but was overlooked when engaged in a battle. I tried to minimize my wounds so that it wouldn't blind my strength. It wasn't working. I was hurting greatly, it had caused me to pay more attention to them then the wicked being in front of me.

She had a power I have never seen in my life. She could keep up a fast pace without heaving a breath. Nothing that she did screamed human. I didn't smell the demon scent that most reeked. I was conflicted but at this rate, I couldn't do much but defend myself and land a hit if possible.

"What are.......you?" I grunted as the blood spilled from the new wound she inflicted on me. She smirked as she dug the sharp blade into my soft warm skin. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

She flutters her pearl white wings admitting gust of wind to slam into our faces. She glowered over us with pride. "If you haven't noticed only Angels bear these. I serve my one and only goddess. She is the one who reigns over the planet. And you, Inuyasha, is in the way of her doing what she was made to do." She gathered her energy to spiral in my direction.

"You need to leave or I will destroy you!" I managed to weave her attack. If I hadn't I probably would've lost my head. My limbs screamed for me to give up. They yearn for rest that my mind and heart wouldn't give in to its wishes. My conscious was solely focused on getting her back.

Getting the beautiful image of (Y/n) gave me the boost to slam my fist into her cheek. It sent her back a few feet, enough time for me to amount all the power let in me to finish this off.

"Heh. As if I would do say you say. I'm not the one in the way. You are. Now let me rip you to pieces and be on my way." I bounced on my weak leg to sturdy it for the movement I'm about to make. It started to get used to the pressure allowing me to do as I please without the bother.

I steady my posture, taking deep breaths to calm my haywired lungs. Everything that was pulsing slowly came to a timid pace. I felt better. I felt anew. '(Y/n) give me your strength!'

On cue the heaviness that crushed my chest was easing up. I was ready.

I dug my claws in the blood that ran out of the cuts that littered my chest. It coated my fingers with the scarlet, sticky substance. I grinned with the thought of my plan.

I swiped the air that was being blown in my face, letting red searing, attacks to invade her body. It pierced her untouched skin making her yell with agony. It gave me hope in making out of this with my life. 'And hopefully with (Y/n) too.'

I swung back and forth producing more of my attacks to bring her down or at least slow her down. The moment I see her take a knee I knew I had an advantage now. I unsealed Tessaiga, transforming it in its bigger form. I readied it to strike with Wind scar. Before I could actually yell out the attack I see a hand.

"S...Stop! Please?" She had a cold fear in her eyes. She covered her face to hide her defeated expression. "I've heard of your sword. If I am correct you were about to use Wind scar?" I didn't want to give her the benefit of doubt so I kept my mouth shut.

"No matter. I know you were. I was informed by another accomplice. I don't want to die, not when I got Milady back. So I'll have to ask you to just turn back and go." I chuckled at her demand.

"I'm sorry lady but I'm not going to take some order from a person like you. I have the advantage now. So I should be the one who tells you to leave." She shook her head. "No. I will not let you pass. Milady does not need you! You're just a distraction! Leave half-breed! You are not wanted here."

The nickname struck a nerve, sending red to cross my vision. I lifted Tessaiga, point it to her throat. "Okay, now you've pissed me off! Move or I'll turn you to ashes." She stayed in the place she has been. She made sure not to move in order to show a sliver of confidence. 'Confidence doesn't mean anything if you're dead.'

"Go ahead, half-breed." She has pushed me over the ledge. I raised the blade over my head to slam the attack on her head.

"Wind Sc-" Before I could finish, a sacred arrow flew straight toward Tessaiga. It purified the energy surrounding it, ceasing Wind scar and remoting it to transform into its smaller version. I gripped the arrow in my hand, snapping it in half. My first thought was Kagome, thinking she might actually be under their control still. I twist to face where she laid only to see her still knocked out.

'If it wasn't her...then who?'

"Inuyasha!" A softer voice exclaimed my name from the side. A voice I would never forget.

"Kikyo?"
