"You've accomplished so much already. I am extremely proud of you Milady. A bit more and then you'll be freed." After a year of going from village to village and slowly easing them into submission, Daisuke couldn't help but praise you. The fact that you did it in a nicer way than asked proved that you were who he remembered you to be. The sweet girl who thought of others before herself.

When you were shipped off to be reborn, he was distraught. Thinking that with a new environment and with new people you would grow to be different. Seeing your serene smile as you threaded a small flower crown for the child sitting on your lap was evidence. You were still (Y/n) and that was more than enough.

"Don't say things like that." You murmured through a sad smile, hoping not to make it known how upset that made you feel. With time you had been able to control your powers thanks to the older lady that kindly taught you. It didn't mean there weren't times that it slipped. "He has a point."

"Hey, stop flattering me." You shook your head slightly. It was embarrassing for them to be saying all of that to you. Much less when you feel down, that moment had never left your mind not even for a second. His sad eyes stayed imprinted in you memories. Often making things hard, having him in your mind was enough to make you trip over your words and actions.

"Milady, we have to move on." Daisuke knew what was happening, the blank stare would alarm him of your thoughts. How empty you become as he consumes you whole. "We've been here for quite a while now, we should pack up soon."

"Do we really? We just got here a few weeks ago. Aren't we allowed a break once awhile?" This part was dreadful, having to leave people who you just met, behind was disheartening. Although your memory is hazy, deep down you knew you've felt this before.

"You know we can't. The longer we delay our reign, the slower we get away from her. You know this Milady." He hated scolding you as such, but if he didn't you would choose to make a living here. Away from any pain that you've felt before. "Now let's go. The Western land awaits."

Goosebumps erupted on your skin, hairs standing on edge out of fear, maybe? What could be the reason you're feeling this way? "The Western land? Why is that familiar Dai?"

"Ahhh, Well. You'll see for yourself when we get there. But for now pack up okay?" Turning his back on you, he walked away towards the village. Doing what he could to hide his grim expression.

If it was possible he would've chose to skip over that part of the map. But it wasn't. Lady Oro made it very clear that they needed to bring the Lord of the West to his knees and overtake the throne. After this mission it would all be over. You would be free to live life as you chose to be fit.

Who was waiting there was the problem. The heartless Lord who longs for you was impatiently pacing. Getting ready to retrieve you the moment he got winds as to where you are.

"Inuyasha? Come on stop sulking and help us rebuild please?" He couldn't help it. The fact he had you right there in front of him and still came back empty hand was hurting him. It's been a while and not one whisper of your name was said.

He missed you.

It wasn't news, everyone knew or could tell that his mind was with someone. The stillness of his body showed how much he was frozen. Never getting the motivation to push forward.

"Inuyasha! Sango asked you to help." Shippo felt truly bad for the taller male. He had grown to be fond of you, losing you again broke his heart. Knowing how much closer Inuyasha was to you proved how much more his heart was in pieces. He didn't nag him much, he was grieving, and Shippo was going to give him space.

"Mm. Okay." Inuyasha was never going to stop replaying that moment. The way that you looked at him, the familiar understanding of who he was gave him joy. You remembered him after all you've gone through. This meant something, right?

"Inuyasha. How you holding up?" A small pat on the shoulder was the only indication that Miroku gave to announce his presence. "Mm. I'm okay."

Everyone knew the poor boy's heart was shattered, he wasn't here enough to give a real answer. "I am glad you're okay. Would you like to lay down? Or eat?" After a while, people stopped becoming shocked at the caring monk. He hadn't done this before, but after a year it just became a routine.

"Mm. I'm okay." The small mutter was concealed by the loud hammers and wood. Nobody moved to listen or to ask for a repetition. They knew the answer already.

"Should we start hunting for the shards again?" Miroku knew it had to be done. This thought was on everyone's mind. Yet the fear of being called insensitive was the sole reason nobody had the courage to ask.

"Mm. Okay." A nod. Just a single nod.

"Great. Let's tell the others, okay?" The small run couldn't hide the fact that this was a skipping worthy occasion. Miroku literally leaped to the cabin they resided in, hoping that the rest of the crew was in. Much to his luck they were.

"Okay, he agreed."

"He agreed? You asked?" Kagome felt her heart speed up. This was good. Very good. This could be something that could get his mind of the pain and give him a reason to function.

"Yes. Though we might like to act fast. He doesn't look too well." The eye bags that appeared underneath gave into the suspicion that he wasn't getting enough sleep. His lack of words, even to bicker was frightening. "Right."

"So Kagome. Where's the nearest jewel?"

With a finger, she raised and point to the west.
