*Inuyasha's Pov*

'We've been at it for a while.' The battle that we decided to have raged longer than my usual fights. The whizzing of several arrows never ceases to fly by my ears. She was aiming for my head, she was aiming to kill.

I don't understand where she could've gotten all of this stamina to put up for so long. I couldn't stop dodging to catch a breather. The slightest hesitation could cost me my life, something that wasn't mine.

Kagome was wrong. No matter how much she means to me she doesn't own me. 'My life belongs to (Y/n).' I would be a failure if I lost it before giving it back to the rightful owner. I lingered heavily on the thought of her, hoping to absorb any strength to continue.

An image flooded my vision for a split second, one that was quick to others but lasted for a small eternity to me. The vibrant hues that clouded together to form a beautiful field that emitted a sweet scent. The flowers that bloomed in the small-time span were skillfully decorated. I know only one person that walks this earth that has the power to create such unique flora.

Her lovely figure came into view. The dark, shiny locks swayed as she walked towards the clearing of the center. Bending down, she lightly plucked the highly saturated roses, gathering them in a bunch within her dainty fingers. Leaning over to sniff the aroma they were spreading.

An alluring smile overtook her full lips, resembling the flowers she held, so beautiful. "You can't give up. That isn't the Inuyasha I know." Her lustrous, sleeky tone filled my heart with want. I missed her more than I thought. "I'm tired (Y/n). I feel so tired."

She slowly ascended to a standing position before she crossed over to meet me. Her (S/c) arms slipped to engulf me in a tight embrace. "I know. I know. I wish life wasn't brutal and merciless to you. But you can't give up. You can't just die here in a place you don't even know. I believe you'll prevail and save me. I know you, Inuyasha. You can do it."

Before she could slip from my hold, I pressed her strongly against my chest. I lowered my face to smugly fit in her neck. "Wait. Not yet. I can't let you go yet." She nodded, tilting her head to cuddle my chest. This felt real. Like if nothing else matters but me and her. I felt at peace, safe, having her with me brought forth nothing but tranquility.

I might've stayed there forever, locked in between her, but the pain that shot through my thigh startled me. The burning sensation ran up to envelop my entire left side. It caused tears to spring in my eyes, threatening to fall if I didn't calm down. I search frantically for her, for the woman I held lovingly in my arms. 'Where is she?' With the amount of ache that felt because of my leg, I had forgotten that she was just an illusion my mind created.

Even though it made me crave her touch more, it had done its job. I felt energized. Power-driven. I growled as I snapped the arrow in half, remembering to keep the head in to stop the bleeding while I moved. Having anger cloud my judgment began to attack full on. She was having no ounce of mercy in her attempts to take me down. 'Then why should I?' I lunged to capture her, pinning her to the tree that laid beside the lake.

"You honestly think you got me? Got me where you want me?" She pulled a dagger from underneath her robe, swiping to slit my torso. I grunted at the stinging tingle that followed each cut. She laughed evilly as she craved more wounds. Angrily, I wrapped a clawed hand around her wrist, sinking in the tips to pierce her skin. "Kagome! This isn't who you are. Wake up!" Her hazy eyes widen. Right, when I thought I might have gotten through to her she began to thrash around.

"KIRARA DROP HIM!" Kirara unhinged her jaw to allow the boy to crash the surface. I let go my grip of her in hopes to catch Kiyoshi in time. As I leaped, a bigger body slammed into me, trapping me to the solid ground. "Get off of me!"

"Kirara, please! Let Inuyasha go. It's me Sango......Remember me?" Sango crept cautiously to use. She began to shed tears when Kirara snared at her. Warning her to stay away. "She doesn't hear you! She is being controlled Sango. Don't be an idiot! Stay away!"

She crouched to become eye leveled with her companion. "I know you're in there somewhere. You're good, you are kind. Kirara please come back to us." The more she spoke the more at ease Kirara felt. The heavy pressure lifted, I could breathe once again. Kirara transformed into the smaller version as she mewed. Sango sniffled, reaching to hug her.

"You got the feline but you lost the kid. What a pity." Kagome said shakily as she covered the punctures in her arm. "When are you going to snap out of it?" Her giggle was laced with malice, something the normal Kagome wouldn't make.

"For what? So that you can go get your precious (Y/n)? I don't think so." She lifted her bow to pull an artificial arrow made purely of spiritual magic. "As I said, You don't belong to anyone but me."

"Kagome. This isn't you. You have a good heart and I know you aren't behind this." She shook. "You're just saying that because I have the leverage here."

"No. You know that despite being in pain that you wouldn't do anything like this. You're too pure. Please let the arrow down and calm down."

"Why? Why Inuyasha? Why do you want her so bad? I've been here longer than she has and she gets to have you? That's not fair." She pulled back farther.

"Kagome. I care for you. Please don't do this. Let me save you Kagome." My breath caught within my throat.

The arrow was sent flying.
