The next morning, Troy got up rather early. he was excited to spend the day with soyeon. he was also anxious about giving her the necklace. he got showered and dressed. however he still had no food, at least breakfast foods. he didnt want to start the day on an empty stomach again, so he decided he'd go get something to eat before he was to meet soyeon. as he grabbed his keys and helmet and walked toward the door, the phone rang. he paused for a minute, not wanting to answer, but reluctantly walked into the living room to answer it.

"hello?" he said answering.

"troy, its eunjung." she answered on the other end. she sounded out of breath.

"hey whats up?" he asked.

"sorry if i woke you, but i need a favor." she said.

"well im on my way out, so if i can squeeze it in.." troy started explain

"i have a flat tire." she told him. troys head fell back in disbelief. he mouthed a silent groan.

"alright. tell me where you are." he answered. Troy rode out to where Eunjung was stranded. thankfully it wasn't too far away. troy was busy changing the tire while Eunjung watched.

"are you sure i cant do something to help?" she said as he loosened the bolts on the tire.

"you can make sure these nuts and bolts don't get lost." he said handing them to her.

"im lucky you know how to change tires." she smiled."we're both lucky you had all the right equipment in the trunk." Troy said as he pulled the flat tire from the cars axle.

"well you can thank Jang." she said softly. Troy was working as fast as he could. he wanted to get this over with as soon as possible. he rolled the spare over and lifted it to get it on the axle.after finally getting it on, he tightened the the bolts back on.
"you're still going to need a tire. the spare isn't meant to be used long term." Troy told her as lowered the carjack.

"okay." Eunjung nodded. "thank you."

"no problem." Troy said wiping his forehead.

"do you want me to buy you a coffee or anything?" Eunjung asked as Troy put the tools back in her trunk.

"nah i don't really drink coffee." Troy said. "thank you though. i really should be going, i have to pick up Soyeon."

"oh, okay." Eunjung said disappointed. Troy dusted himself off and got on his moped.

"remember what i said about that spare." Troy reminded her with a smile as he pulled his helmet on. "get home safe. ill talk to you later."

"thank you Troy." Eunjung waved to him. he waved back as he took off. Troy stopped at a small bakery that was on the way. he parked his moped and walked inside. on line waiting to order was Sunhwa, Sunny, and Hyomin... Sunhwa noticed Troy, who was attempting to turn around without being seen.
"HEY TROY!" Sunhwa said brightly waving to him.

"oh. hey guys." Troy said scrunching his face realizing he had been discovered. Sunny waved, and Hyomin folded her arms.

"do you come here often?" Sunhwa said motioning him over.
"no actually, first time." Troy said awkwardly.

"what a coincidence." Hyomin sighed.

"sorry about your hockey season." Sunny chimed in.

"thanks." Troy nodded.

"but you can focus on our activities now, right?" Sunhwa asked.

"well, i don't see why not." Troy simply obliged her.

"are you going to join us?" she asked again. Hyomin had a disgruntled look in her eye. Sunny just stood there avoiding the tension the best she could.

"actually, im on my way to see Soyeon, so i can't stay." Troy smiled.
"in that case, why don't you order first." Hyomin said bluntly.

"yea, yea so you can get there quicker." Sunny said trying not to let things get any more tense. "you don't wanna be late after all right?"

"well, she did say 'don't be late'." Troy said playfully mocking Soyeons voice. Sunny and Sunhwa laughed.
"thanks" Troy said as he went ahead of them and ordered a muffin. after getting his muffin, he said his goodbyes and hopped on his moped. he drove carefully while eating his muffin through his helmet. however he realized he may be lost, as he didn't seem to be at the right location. he stopped to look at napkin with the directions on it. he must have taken a wrong turn and had to backtrack...after finding his way, Troy zipped down the street to the hopefully, the correct place he was supposed to pick up Soyeon. as he rode down the street he saw a girl waiting outside on the sidewalk. as he got closer, he knew it was Soyeon. he pulled up alongside her and quickly yanked off his helmet. his muffin was crammed in his mouth. he was so focused on getting there on time, he didntt remember to chew his food. Soyeon just stared at him blankly, with a half eaten muffin lodged in his mouth. she looked down at her watch and shook her head.she started to walk away from him. Troy spit out his muffin and grabbed her arm.
"i asked you one thing." Soyeon said without turning around.

"come on, its not that big of a deal." Troy said to the back of her head.

"where were you?" she asked sternly.

"i stopped to get that muffin." Troy said pointing to the the remains he spit out.

"AND" Soyeon said finally turning to face him. "where else did you stop?"the fire in her eyes made him look away.
"are we really having our first argument over something like this?" Troy said nervously.
"about you being with Eunjung again?" she said, Troy had no idea how she knew.

"where did all this come from? you said you didn't have a problem with any of it" Troy said trying to plead with her.

"yea well, you guys have been getting too close if you ask me." she said folding her arms.

"im sorry Soyeon. if it bothers you that much, i will stop." Troy said putting his hand on her arm.

"i probably sound like a jealous nut." Soyeon sighed as she pulled out her compact mirror to look herself over.

"nut is such a strong word." Troy said smirking. Soyeon glared at him over her mirror. he quickly stopped smirking.

"anyway. seeing as you lost your muffin... do you want to get something else to eat. i havent eat yet myself." soyeon said.

"yea, sure. whatever you want." Troy said walking her to the moped. Troy and Soyeon got on, and headed out to get food. they stopped at a Pastry shop that Soyeon recommended. they sat at a table together eating their breakfast. however there was an awkward silence between them. what Troy envisioned as a day of fun, was off to a bad start.

"im surprised you don't like coffee." Soyeon said breaking the silence. "everyone says its what all the people from big cities like to drink."

"i just never cared for it." he watched as Soyeon played with the whipped topping on her coffee. he watched her carefully, the delicate way she held the small stirring straw.
"you look pretty today."

"thank you." Soyeon said showing a slight smile.

"can i ask you, how you knew i was with eunjung?" Troy said

"i didn't until you told me." soyeon said as she placed her chin in her hand.

"so.. you mean...." Troy was baffled.

"i just had a feeling." she said with a little laugh.

"you..." Troy said shaking his finger at her. "youre good."

"i am. so don't think you're ever gonna out-smart me." she winked.

"i knew that from the moment i saw you." Troy said.

"oh, i see." she smiled.

"and i only was with her because she needed help with her car." Troy admitted. Soyeon just waved her hand.
"lets talk about something else." Soyeon said quickly.

"how about i take you some place special." Troy said as he swallowed the last bite of his new muffin.

"...special?" Soyeon asked curiously.

"its a surprise." he said smiling.

"Ok." she nodded as she finished her coffee. she went outside with Troy. As he  sat on the moped and waited for Soyeon to climb on, he spotted Jun drive by. the 2 made only brief, but very intense eye contact as he rolled by. Troy kept his eyes glued as he drove passed them.
"whats wrong?" soyeon asked, noticing Troy was just staring behind them.

"nothing. just thought i saw a familiar face." Troy brushed it off and they drove off to see Troys surprise.they drove for awhile, and on the way it started to snow, small flurries fell from the sky. Soyeon pointed it out to Troy, but he already saw for himself. the small flakes were sticking and melting on his visor. they didn't drive much further. Troy stopped in front of a small hill, but other than that there wasn't much around. a lot of grass, and trees.
"we're here." Troy said hopping off and putting his arms up.

"its nice and scenic. very quiet and peaceful." Soyeon smiled. "but its a little cold for a picnic i think."

"and i didn't pack any food." Troy added to Soyeons witty remark as he pulled a bag from inside the compartment from under the seat, and another from a basket on the side.

"cause you ate it with Eunjung already." Soyeon said smirking as she stuck her face close to his.
"ha ha." Troy laughed at her sarcasm. "we're not here to eat. were here for this." Troy said as he motioned for her to walk to the top of the hill. he pointed out a small frozen pond.
"hey look, the pond is frozen." she said as they reached the top.

"thats right." he nodded. "and thats why we have these." he threw the 2 bags on the floor and then opened them revealing ice skates.

"but, i've never skated before." soyeon said putting her hand up to her mouth.

"how can that be, its colder here than it is where im from originally." Troy said honestly shocked Soyeon had never skated.

"i just, never had an interest i guess." she admitted.

"well you cant skate in heels, so hurry and put these on. ill help lace you up." Troy helped soyeon tightly lace the ice skates he had brought for her.
