The border was a white stone wall, about 10 feet tall. It surrounded almost the whole White Kingdom. There was an open doorway that led to the other side.
"Well, What are you waiting for, an invitation? Go in already before—" Hatta was cut off by the sound of metal clanging together, along with yelling.

"Hey, Intruders! Get them!" Commanded a head soldier, as the rest of them ran towards them. They wore an all white suit of armor—no surprised there. They looked like they just walked off a Chess board.

"Run..RUN!" Jest grabbed Cathrine's wrist and they ran through the doorway, Hatta and Raven behind them. Hatta closed and locked the door with a key, as the soldiers pounded on the door. "Where did he get the key," Cathrine thought.
The door led to a village; Every building and cottage were— not as white as the Castle itself— but they were more of a     cream color. It was as if they were once white as snow, but over time it was stained with chemicals and all sorts of things.

Jest still held on to Cath's wrist, his grip tightening. "We need a place to hide, and a place to stay..." he seemed deep in thought, then he beamed and looked at Cathrine. " and I know just the place for both of those things. Follow me." Still holding onto her, Jest led the way around the hustle and bustle of the village. There were shops and little houses; they also passed by a small farmers market. Cathrines's nose exploded with all kinds of smells. Some smells were familiar, and there was some that were delicious and exotic, things she had never breathed in before. She sometimes spotted the occasional bakery, breads, pastries and cakes all placed out on hot trays and baskets outside, filling the area with the sweet aroma of custard, cinnamon, and much more.

She was so distracted by her surroundings, she screamed when she felt her arm yanked into a dark alley. She forgot she was still in Jest's hold. She wasn't scared, she was only shocked, yet her arm was shaking. Jest felt her trembling, and let go of her wrist and lifted her hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss against it; It sent a tingle up her arm and warmed her up. "I'm sorry, for pulling you so hard, but we had to hide here; the soldiers were right behind us."

Cathrine nodded when Hatta came running to them in the alley, Raven on his shoulder. Then he spread his wings and flew onto Jest's three pointed hat. Hatta put his hands on his knees, panting. "You..run...so...fast.."

Jest chuckled. "You're the messenger, shouldn't you be running faster than me? Jest patted his shoulder. "Must be all those cookies and biscuits you eat at your tea parties." Stifling a laugh, Cathrine covered her mouth were one hand. Hatta shifted his glare from Jest to her. Jest then straightened and then went stiff when he saw soldiers pass by.

when they disappeared, Cathrine realized she was holding her breath; she let out a sigh of relief. "I think it's safe to go out now." Jest slipped his hand into Cath's, looked out both ways to see if there were any more soldiers, and began to walk out, trying to act normal with the rest of the crowd. Hatta followed behind.

Jest led them into a small neighborhood. They were simple, but beautiful little cottages. They finally approached the last little house in a corner.

Jest knocked on the door.

A few moments later, a lady— she looked like she was in her 30's— opened the door. She was wearing white sandals, that tied around her ankle with a ribbon. She also wore a simple, long sleeved, grey gown, with a white apron, designed with black spades.  Black, curly hair cascaded down to her waist. She was slender and pale, and she had a perfect Complexion.
Her eyes were bright yellow, just like Jest's, they could pierce through you with one glance. One could say, she was a very attractive and beautiful woman, indeed. The lady then smiled, small dimples appearing.

"Hello, Jest."  She opened her arms and embraced him.

"Hello, Mother."
