"Who kisses someone on the second day? And he already has her blushing, and it took me like, what....a week or two? There's something about him..." Jest paced around his large room, which was much similar to the room he had a while ago in the cabin when caring for Cathrine. Jest tried to clear his mind, but it always found its way back to one person:
Adam. Why hasn't he ever heard of him? Jest knew many people in Chess, and he had never came across him. There was something about him that made shiver, as if he were a danger, and he should keep Cathrine as far away as possible.
A knock came at his door. He grunted as he opened the door, a bit irritated that someone would knock at this time in the night. His eyes met with a pair of deep purple ones. His irritation dropped. "Hatta!" Jest whispered, not wanting to yell and wake up the whole castle. Hatta smiled as they embraced one another, "Yes, that is my name," he answered Playfully. Jest's eyes shifted to a female figure.
More specifically, his mother."Oh my Kitten, I was so worried about you, I wondered if that hideous flying creature hurt you, or worse. But I should have known better, my Kitty is a brave soldier, and that furry beast is no match for my son!" Karmen wiped a single tear from her cheek and kissed Jest on his cheek multiple times. Raven flew from behind and onto Jest's shoulder. Jest smiled. "Dear Jest, it has been a while, I was starting to miss your sweet smile," then he spread his dark wings and flew near the window. "How did you end up here?" Jest inquired.
"Well, after we helped some of the nearby people in the village to safety, we tried looking for you and Cathrine, but you were no where to be seen, and so was the Jabberwock. We thought you two might have left to the castle, so we came here. The Queen said she hasn't had any visitors, but being the optimistic and cheerful person she is, she told us that we could stay here for a while in case you came here. And well, you did. Nice room by the way."
Hatta peeked past Jest admiring his chamber. "Thank you, Hatta. Uh, It's so great to see you both very much, but it's late and I'm exhausted. I hope you both sleep well, and I shall see you tomorrow." They waved as Jest closed the large door. He sighed as he held his forehead again the door. When he turned around, he saw Raven was already asleep beside the window, which had a wonderful view of the village and the landscape. He sat on his comfy bed, admiring his homeland.
Oh, how he had missed Chess.

Cathrine yawned as she opened her window, revealing a beautiful Chess. She closed her eyes as she inhaled the faint scent of roses in the air. Her door suddenly swung open, and a small maid entered. Cathrine jumped in surprise, but exhaled when she saw the maid. She bowed shyly, "S-sorry to intrude, but my name is Lucy, and I was sent to be at your service— well, your maid." Cathrine gave a warm smile to her, "it's alright, Lucy. It is a pleasure to meet you."
As if Lucy's shyness was switched off, she scurried behind Cathrine, pushing her through a door that led to the bath. "Now, lets get you ready," Lucy stripped her of her clothing, letting her get in the already warm water. Cathrine wasn't used to being fully naked in front of anyone.Yes, she once had a maid before, Mary Ann, but Cathrine was used to bathing herself. Lucy hummed as she scrubbed thoroughly, and washed her hair. Once her hair and her body were dried off, the maid rushed Cathrine over to the main room, where the wardrobe was. "Lets find you a dress," Lucy opened the wardrobe, and searched around.
A lot of the dresses were white (no surprise there), but there were some light lavender purples, light pinks, some gold, basically very, very light shades of colors. Some were more elegant than others, reaching the floor, but many would reach just below or above the knee. Finally, Lucy chose a short and frilly, light lavender dress that stopped right in between her kneecap. There was a delicate white flower that sat on the front side of the dress, settled on her waistline. "You look amazing, My lady," Lucy whispered.
