"Ooh, Y/n look who's here," your coworker whispered as they nudged you playfully.
"Dammit, why now?" You let your head drop to the surface of the counter in shame. Why did he have to be here?

"Good evening, Goblin Slayer," your employee greeted merrily. He simply nodded at them before turning to you, who now was beaming with fake joy. "Anything you're interested in trying today, Goblin Slayer?" you asked. forgot to mention this earlier but you work at a bakery so—

"I'd like my usual. Thank you." You nodded at his request (well more like command) and bagged up some shortcake before explaining the price to him.

Goblin Slayer handed you the correct payment with ease and thanked you once more on his way out. You waved him goodbye before letting yourself fall against the counter once more.

Your coworker laughed at your "lovely" state and rubbed your shoulder assuringly. "I swear you're always on and off with this guy," they chuckled.

To clear things up, you'd been attempting to avoid Goblin Slayer for several weeks now due to your complicated feelings for him, but it seemed like he came at you like the damn plague. To add to your troubles, he also had a taste for your pastries so he visited your bakery often.

Your friend sighed. "Honestly, you can't keep playing this game forever, Y/n. In my opinion I think you should just come clean and tell the guy you like him!" You groaned in agony.

"With so many girls on his back, I wouldn't be surprised if he's been confessed to hundreds of times. Hell, there's even something weird between him and that spear guy!"

"Oh, Y/n stop being such a baby and tell him! There's no way he'd turn someone as pretty as you down," they reassured. You smiled at them in appreciation and regained your straight posture.

"You're right. I should just go ahead and tell him. I can't keep these feelings hidden forever." Your coworker began to pat you on the back. "That's the spirit!"

a few hours later

"See ya tomorrow!" You said your goodbyes to your friend as they left to go home for the evening. "Guess I'm locking up tonight..." you mumbled.

As you were wrapping up a few pastries to take home, you heard the bell on the door jingle. "Sorry but we're closed," you said, your attention still focused on the tasty treats.

"My apologies. I just thought I'd stop by." After hearing his voice, you immediately looked up at him. "Oh, Goblin Slayer! I'm sorry I thought you were just a random customer," you laughed sheepishly.

"Am I not a random customer to you?" he asked, causing you blush on instinct. "So why'd you decide to stop by?" There was a brief moment of silence between the both of you until he continued.

"I wanted to ask you something..." Goblin Slayer's voice seemed quieter now. Was it shyness? Ha no way.

"Go ahead," you pressed curiously. "I'd like to observe your baking techniques." Your brow raised at this. "My baking techniques?" you repeated. Slayer nodded.

"I've never tasted any desserts as delicious as yours and I'm asking if I could watch you bake something," he stated bluntly. Your reddened face only worsened at his words. "Tha-thank you, but you want me to bake something now?"
