Pretty hyped about writing this one

Also, it's going to be Goblin Slayer's pov throughout the chapter
( strong language involved)

I awoke with a start, my body pumping with adrenaline. My chest heaved at an erratic pace as my knuckles clenched my already sweat-soaked sheets. 'That damn dream again...'

This chain of night terrors had been growing much more graphic with each passing night. And in every one, I was forced to sit and watch my beloved
Y/n be butchered a pig. Be it goblins, humans, or even natural disasters, it didn't matter; for I still couldn't save her in the end.

I sat up wearily, knowing that I wouldn't be granted rest anytime soon. I shuffled to my window. The two moons, which were positioned just above the tree line, glowed stunningly into the gray abyss of dawn. One by one, stars began to fade into the dull, pink hues of the morning's coming.

With my fists clenched white, I glared into the unknown with a mixture of rage  and determination sparking in my eyes. Though she didn't know it yet, Y/n was my everything; and if anyone, human or not, dared to harm her then so be it, I wouldn't hesitate to draw my sword against them.

Later, That Morning

"Good morning!" Cowgirl chimed merrily, though my mind was buzzing with so many thoughts that I neglected to notice. "Hello?" She began to frantically wave her hands in front of my helm.

"Oh, good morning," I mumbled. "What are you thinking about?" she asked. shrugged, "Goblins." (which wasn't a complete lie.)

She giggled and shook her head. "Anyway, breakfast will be ready shortly. Are you hungry?" I nodded. I was actually quite glad she was such a chatterbox since it gave me an excuse to keep quiet.

After breakfast, I gathered the rest of my gear and started my long walk to town. Of course, Cowgirl wanted to accompany me, but I couldn't allow her to get in the way of my search for Y/n. I felt her gaze stiff on my back as I trailed on the path ahead. It was as if she knew my intentions.

I had been looking for Y/n for hours on end. The sun was already beginning to set over the horizon, yet the market center was still bustling with people. Adventurers left and right glared daggers at me through the thick crowd of civilians. 'Silly pests.' I was slightly taken aback by my own thoughts. I'd never really cared much about the sneers aimed at me until now. Was it because of Y/n?

Speaking of which, I caught a glimpse of her person exiting the Guild Hall. She looked unsettled by something. I began to navigate towards her until I noticed someone else lingering close behind her.

It seemed to be a middle-aged man, perhaps in his early forties. A brown, ragged cloak was loosely draped over his plump stature. His eyes were stained dutch brown, the same color as his thinning hair.

Everything about that man set unnerved me. The aura surrounding him practically shrieked danger. I yearned for my feet to carry me further, yet they failed to obey. My heart felt like it was in my throat as the unkempt stranger grasped Y/n's shoulder; tightly.

He suddenly drew his face to her ear, whispering words I could not understand. I watched anxiously, wondering why she didn't attempt to defend herself or at least cry out for assistance. But then I realized that a short-handled knife was firmly placed against her back.

After what felt like an eternity, the cloaked bastard withdrew backward and shoved her along the crowd of citizens into a secluded alleyway. I felt as if I lost the ability to breathe. Everything that I had just witnessed happened in moments, yet there I stood, completely helpless.
I slapped myself inwardly before unsheathing my blade and following after them.

My heart hammered against my armored chest as I stalked into the darkness. I clenched the hilt if my sword so tightly, I imagined it breaking. Incoherent voices could be heard ahead; perhaps a few meters or so.

"Alrightly sweetheart. This can go one of two ways. You take your clothes off or I gut you right here, right now. Got it?"
That son of a bitch. "You sick freak. I would never-" A sharp noise suddenly ricocheted off the moistened walls. He slapped her...

"You little shit! I'll make you regret saying that!" Instantly, I emerged from the shadows and stood over his rigid figure. "Hey." My overwhelming rage altered my voice as a deep, crimson glow spilled from my left eye. Y/n, who was positioned firmly against the wall, lit up at my presence.

"Wh-who the hell are you?!" The man snarled, attempting to sound dominant. I stepped forward, causing him to stagger backward. This continued until eventually, he lost his footing and stumbled to the ground.

He drew out his dagger for defense, unfortunately for him, it was no match against my sword (which was pointed mere inches from his throat).
"Wha-what do you want from me, you monster?!" I sighed impatiently and kicked him harshly in the jaw. I then drove my boot in his chest and bent down his level.

For a brief moment, I turned to the
h/c haired woman, who was ridden stiff. "Get out of here. You don't need to look at this rotten pile of scum any longer." She gazed at me with uncertainty. "I can't just le-"
"Go," I said lowly. She hesitantly nodded, glancing at her assaulter before making  her way down the narrow pathway.

"Please let me go! I'll never touch anyone ever again, I swear," he cried. I shook my head and added more pressure to his chest. He grimaced from the added weight from my foot. "Hurts, doesn't it?" I asked with amusement dripping in my voice. "What..do you want from me?! Is it-is it because I touched your woman? I'm so sorry! I swear I'll never even look in her direction ever again, just please let me go!"

I huffed and removed my foot. "Fine. But know this, if I ever see you even look at her again, I'll drive this sword up your ass. Now get out of my face." He whimpered before scrambling to his feet and stumbling to the exit. Before he escaped however, I shoved my blade through his abdomen. "I think I changed my mind," I said darkly.

He looked back at me mortified. "You-you bast...ard," he mustered. I retrieved my now blood-soaked sword as his lifeless body dropped to the ground with a hard thud. Beneath my helmet held a smug grin plastered on my face.
I shuddered in utter delight.

Now I know...that I can protect her. Forever.

I think I could've done a little better towards the end. I've never written a yandere chapter before so I apologize if it was a tad rough.
