The limelight's trudged into the sold out stadium, reminded of the tragic event that occurred just weeks before.
But once again, I'd be lying if I told you they all died.
One lucky member got to see this day. Their 14th anniversary.
"We stand here today, in honor of Why Don't We's 14th anniversary of becoming a band. Just 9 days earlier, a tragic car crash killed 4 of the 5 boys. And today, Jack Avery will stand on the stage, and hold a moment of silence for his fallen brothers. Jonah Marais, 32. Corbyn Besson, 31. Daniel Seavey, 31. And Zachary Herron, 29."
Jack was never the same after that.
He never picked up a guitar again.
He didn't dare sing another note.
He didn't even touch a piano.
He left his wife and daughters.
He distanced himself from his entire family.
He deleted every social media possible. Including all of the bands.
He continued to apologize to their families, year after year, saying it was his fault.
He was broken, and their was no fixing him.
He spent most of his time with his best friends.
Sitting next to their graves. Talking to them.
