Chapter 47

"Alpha! They are here!" a warrior comes to report to Daniel as the man turns to us with a nod.

"Let's the fucking war begin," he announces with a confident smirk as one of Daniel's warrior, Michael and I immediately head off to our meeting point.

With renewed confidence, I swiftly follow my father-in-law through the woods. We need to be quick and time everything perfectly. Since we can't use any communication device without any signals, each team had at least one werewolf in it. That way, we could communicate with each other without any delay or sound.

The only problem was the teamwork. I already knew that Michael and I would be able to work together without any problems, but with that guy... I don't think we can. Plus, I think I have seen him somewhere. But I don't really remember when and where.

"Stop staring at me!" the werewolf growls at me with a dark glare.

"Have we already met?"

The younger man ignores my question before gaining more speed and is now running in front of me. Oh, well. Who cares who he is.

A few minutes later, we finally reach the point where we were supposed to wait for the enforcers. We all jumped on the tree branches, so the enforcers couldn't see us even if they walk through here. Plus, the tree leaves will also hide us if they decide to look up.

Knowing that we have to wait, I sit down on a thick branch with my back leaning on the trunk. To be honest, I didn't want to be positioned here. I wanted to be in the front lines with Nikolas and Katie, but no matter what, my mate refused to let me fight beside him. He is so scared to see me injured that he was ready to put me back into Daniel's safe until the end of the fight. I can't believe it. I'm not made of glass! I won't break if someone happens to touch me.

This is why I am presently sitting on a tree branch while looking out for any signs from the enforcers. This job is so boring. Plus, a mad werewolf is now always staring at me. What does he want? He was the one that told me to stop staring!

"What?" I grumble as I scratch the back of my neck.

He clicks his tongue before looking away, but I did not miss the hate shining brightly in his eyes a few seconds ago. What did I do for him to hate me so much? I don't even think we know each other.

"Look, for the sake of the teamwork, tell me why you resent me," I order as he clenches his hands.

I watch the werewolf take a deep breath before starting his accusation, "I'll never forgive you for what you have done! Our pack became a mess as soon as you arrived. Everything is your fault."

"It would be very nice of you to tell what I've done to get those accusations," I answered calmly not surprised by his anger. Every werewolf except for Claudia has hated me since day one.

A new wave of rage invaded the younger's man face. It was as if he couldn't believe what I just said. "You trespassed into our pack land and my Alpha welcomed as our guest. But how do you thank him? By bringing a whole set of deranged hunters with you. But you also put Claudia into danger. It is all because of you that Claudia is in a coma!"

I keep staring at the man in front of me not quite registering what he just said. He is kind of right. Without me, their pack may not be under attack, but it was only a matter of time. But what angered me is the fact that he is accusing me of putting Claudia in a coma! I never wished for that, and I literally saved her life. Without me, she would be dead.

"I guess you wanted to be the loving hero in his shining armour saving her from death," I answered sarcastically while rolling my eyes.

"I don't need to do anything. She will realize soon enough that I am the right man for her," he states proudly as I snort at him. "What?"
