You and Jane had been together for 2 years now, and it was Pride Month, so we had decided to join several Pride parades in order to support this. We had been to a New York one, and now we were in London, for the next.
Both of us being vampires, had red eyes, and no contacts were needed, as they fit in perfectly with our outfits.
It was at the start of the parade, where things went a bit haywire. We were holding hands, fingers intertwined with one another's, when a man, a protester, came up behind us.
"You are going to Hell!" He shouted at us. We smirked, looked at each other, with the same idea in our minds, and Jane drew me closer for a kiss.
He tried to separate us, but we were stronger, being vampires, and all, and continued kissing.
It was at that point, we turned and replied to his earlier statement.
"Yeah." We both said in unison, red eyes gazing into his soul. "To rule. We do, after all, have a kingdom to run."
He stumbled backwards, and tripped up on a rock. "Uh, I'm sorry. I'm just going to-" And at that point he sprinted away, terrified.
We took down someone, purely through words; it was a shame we didn't even need to use our powers.
A drag queen, looking radiant, in her Lady Gaga inspired outfit, came up to us, and thanked us.
That was when, some of the others, in the parade, those that had saw what we done, put us on their shoulders, and raised us from the crowd.
You loved the unity that the crowd held, and at last it felt like somewhere that you could fit in, a perfect family.
We laughed, and held hands all the while, having an extremely good time together.
Blood means related; loyalty means family.
