*BRUCE'S POV*

Oh God, I think to myself as I cross the street, away from the others. I don't know what the hell I'm doing...

I hear a loud banging noise behind me and slowly turn around to see past Hulk smashing away at taxis and billboards. I roll my eyes.

Why did I have to be such an attention-grabber?

I jog onto Bleecker Street, looking for any sign of Doctor Strange. I see bright lights coming from the rooftop of the Sanctum Santorum as I draw closer.

Maybe that's him.

I run into the building and take the elevator to the top.

As soon as I step outside, I feel a strange sort of power in the vicinity. Then I see a woman. She has no hair and she's wearing light orange robes.

"I was expecting you any minute now," she states casually, staring off into the distance of crashing skyscrapers and screams.

"Who- who are you?" I ask, shocked.

"Oh, you don't know me," she said.

"What- what can I call you?"

"I have no set name," she said, turning around. "But most people call me The Ancient One."

I nodded. The Ancient One.

Um...

"I'm looking for Doctor Stephen Strange. Do you know him? Do you know where I can find him?" I asked exasperatedly.

"Well," she said, walking around a potted plant, "you're about 5 years too early Mr. Banner."

"Doctor," I corrected her and she smiled. "I'm afraid Stephen Strange is currently performing surgery about 20 blocks away. What do you want from him?"

"That," I point to the Eye of Agamotto, resting gently on her chest.

"Ah," she looked down at it, then back up at me, "I'm afraid not Dr. Banner."

"Okay ma'am, I really don't want to have to do this but I need that stone right now, the whole universe is in danger," I made a grab for it but she backed up.

She did a motion with her hands, swishing them in and out and then suddenly and aggressively pushing my chest. I felt myself fly backward.

But it was like it was in slow motion. I can see everything moving around me. The little people on the streets below, running for their lives. The tall buildings shining against the sun as aliens fly around them unbothered. The old woman, her knowing smile. Then I looked to the front of me and saw...

My- my body?

Oh my- what's going on?

I pick my hands up and look at them. I look sort of translucent. I walk towards my solid body and touch it.

"What is this?" I asked her horrified, my voice barely audible because of my shock.

"This," she gestured to me and made a glowing gold orb in her hands, "is your astral form. You are the soul. This," she gestured to my body and made a glowing blue orb in her hands, "is your physical form. You and your physical form are no longer," she merged the orbs together and they disappeared into thin air, "one."

"I- I can't-" I stuttered. "This is completely against the known laws of science-"

"Science," she shook her head, "isn't everything Doctor." She started to walk away but I ran after her, perplexed and my brain begging for more answers.
