Thoughts of the Witching Hour

Everything must start somewhere. Everything needs a fixed point in time to begin its journey. Any time, any set of numbers is as good as any other, so why is it that everything starts at midnight?

By definition it is "the middle of the night," but that isn't even true. It is the first moment of the official morning, long before the dawn. It is the first second of the new day, the new year, the new decade or century.

But it is also the end. The end of the day, the year, the eon. The beginning and the end. The prefect choice for a Witching Hour.

Everything must start somewhere, but everything ends as well.
