We ended up going to IHOP for coffee, and by the way Dean was staring, something was bothering him.
"So what were you doing out this early?" He asked.
"Couldn't sleep. Decided that I needed some fresh air. You?"
"Same. Why couldn't you sleep?"
"Had a lot of stuff on my mind."
"Like?"
"Remember when we were in Kansas City and I ran into you before World's of Fun?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Well..." Then I began to tell him about my meeting with Stephanie and what had happened with the boys earlier.
"So... they're mad at you for getting an opportunity that most newcomers don't get until later on down the road?" He asked.
"Not mad at me. Just the fact that they're breaking us up before we even got started as a group." I explained.
"Well, that's business. They need to understand that factions, no matter how popular they are or talented, are not going to last forever in the business. I mean hell The Shield won't be around forever! Eventually they're going to split us up and make us go our seperate ways and they will do the same for your friends." He explained.
"Yea... It's just we got in this business together and we were hoping to all win championships together."
"And I'm sure eventually you guys will. It's not going to be like this forever, but right now this is about you. People want to see you with that belt around your waist. You deserve this." Dean said.
"Well thank you for supporting." I said smiling.
"No problem, but you don't seem happy about it." He frowned
"No I am! Really! Just hasn't sunk in yet I guess." I said laughing.
"Come with me." He said.
"Where?"
"Just come with me!" He chuckled.
"I'm in Tyler's truck remember?"
"Oh I forgot. Does he know?"
"No."
Dean just shook his head, "Well, he wants to whoop my ass anyway. Might as well give him a reason to." We got in Tyler's truck and headed for the desert.
"What are we doing back here?" I asked confused.
"Do you have any blankets?" I handed him a blanket I had forgotten about. He got out of the truck and lifted the tailgate down and made a pallet in the bed of the truck. He laid down and patted for me to come sit next to him. I obliged.
"So..."
"Shh. Just watch." He said. I sat and watched as the sun began to rise. It was beautiful! I looked over at Dean and noticed he was laying down with his eyes closed.
"Are you falling asleep on me?"
"Nope. Just enjoying the sun rise."
"You can't enjoy it if you can't see it." I noted.
"Sure you can! Just close your eyes and feel the beauty." He said smiling.
"That's deep." I teased.
"Shut up." He laughed. I gave in and laid next to him and shut my eyes. Soon I was being woken up.
"Annaleigh come on! We better get you home before a search party is called." Dean said.
We departed and I returned home safely. I was greeted with a very pissed off Tyler.
"Where the hell have you been?!" Tyler asked through gritted teeth.
"Just out driving around."
"In my truck?! You know you're supposed to ask me first before you go ANYWHERE in my truck!" Tyler yelled.
"I know and I'm really sorry! I filled it up though." Tyler read me the right act and lectured me for a good 20 minutes.
After a very long lecture, I decided to take a shower. As I stood there letting the hot water hit my body, I began to recall the events from this morning, and I couldn't help but smile. Only Dean could make me feel this way and only Dean could make me feel at peace when everything around me is chaos. I got dressed and began to get ready for the day. As I was getting ready, I heard my phone go off and I looked and noticed I had a text message. I smiled when I saw that it was from Dean.Dean: I had fun this morning. How much trouble did you get in?
Me: I did too! Tyler was pretty pissed! Endured a very long lecture about taking his truck without asking.
Dean: I'm sorry. It was my fault.
Me: No worries.
Dean: Hey so I was wondering if you had any plans for tonight?
Me: Not yet. ☺
Dean: Well I was wondering if you'd like to go bowling.
Me: I'd love to!
