A few days have passed since the boys left. I still felt the same: Sad, weak, and sick. I decided that regardless of how I felt, I was going for a run. I changed, grabbed my keys, grabbed my Ipod, and headed out the door.
I made it to the desert. It was hard ignoring the memories of Jon and I here but I somehow managed to do it. I put my headphones on, turned my music on to Shuffle, and started running.
A few miles in, I was starting to feel a little better...until 5 Seconds of Summer began to play.

For a while we pretended
That we never had to end it
But we knew we'd have to say goodbye
You were crying at the airport
When they finally closed the plane door
I could barely hold it all inside

Torn in two
And I know I shouldn't tell you
But I just can't stop thinking of you
Wherever you are
You
Wherever you are
Every night I almost call you
Just to say it always will be you
Wherever You are

I could fly a thousand oceans
But there's nothing that compares to
What we had and so I walk alone
I wish I didn't have to be gone

As I listened to the words, Jon popped into my memory. My eyes began to water and I quickly changed the song as I picked up my pace. The next song began to play and it too had to take a stab at me. Even my Ipod felt the need to rub it in my face that I no longer had Jon.

Don't try to explain your mind
I know what's happening here
One minute, it's love
And, suddenly, it's like a battlefield

One word turns into a war
Why is it the smallest things that tear us down
My world's nothing when you're gone
I'm out here without a shield, can't go back, now

Both hands tied behind my back for nothing, oh no
These times when we climb so fast to fall, again
Why we gotta fall for it, now

I never meant to start a war
You know, I never wanna hurt you
Don't even know we're fighting for
Why does love always feel like a battlefield, a battlefield, a battlefield

The words cut deep. Fed up, I threw my Ipod down and bolted. I kept pushing myself to run faster. I had it in my head that if I ran faster, Jon's memory would fade away. I needed to get rid of his presence... I honestly needed to let him go.
As I ran faster, I noticed my breathing was becoming abnormal. I slowed down only to see the desert was spinning. My knees began to shake and I collapsed on the hard ground. I laid down thinking that I could control my breathing better that way but it only made it worse. My vision was becoming dimmer and the scenery around me was becoming black. Am I dying? I didn't want to die! Not this way! I wasn't ready! The world around me began to fade.
"Miss? Are you okay?" A voice asked. And just like that... the world went black.

"Man, the other night was crazy! Joe was super pissed!" Seth said as we sat down at our table to eat breakfast. In a few hours we will be on our way to Chicago, Illinois.
"Yea he was. If it had been me, I would've done more damage!" Roman joined.
"Yea but I think Tyler got punished enough. I mean, he just lost one of his best friends, maybe another one, and when Annaleigh finds out? Oooh boy! He will be in hot water! Not to mention, if Joe was serious about quitting the American Outlaws, they no longer have a title shot. Both Tyler and Jacob, if he decides to stick by Tyler's side, will be on the back burner for a while until Creative can figure out what to do with them." Seth said.
"Ouch! Yea that's true. Damn! Tyler did bite off more than he can chew." Roman agreed, "Speaking of Annaleigh... are you going to follow Joe's advice and fix things between you two?"
I felt like the biggest idiot in the world for letting her go. A bigger idiot for listening to the one guy whose only motive was to get me out of the picture the entire time so that he could have her to himself!
"You with us Jon?" Seth asked.
"Yea. Sorry was just thinking." I answered.
"Well?... are you going to try and win Annaleigh back or not?"
"Of course I am. I love her. I just have to figure out a way to. If it's not too late."
"What do you mean? Just admit that you were wrong, say you're sorry and make up."
"I can't just say sorry and expect her to forgive me...no. She deserves more than just some apology."
We finished eating in silence as I ran through ideas on how to get her back.
***Annaleigh's P.O.V***
'...the holes represent the wounds of Jesus; These remind us of the four Sacred Wounds of Our Lord on His Hands and Feet that He bore after being nailed to the Cross. A center hole, the fifth, represents the pierce Wound to His Sacred Heart made by the spear of Longinus. On the top part of the shell you can clearly see a star in the center, that's the Star of Bethlehem. Turn it around, and you'll see the Easter lily, a sign of Our Lord's Resurrection. If you turn the sand dollar over, you'll see the outline of the Poinsettia, the Christmas flower. Now here's the cool part:
(Snaps the sand dollar)
If you break it right, there will be five doves. See?'
I was back in California explaining to Jon the Legend of the Sand Dollar. Am I in Heaven? Did I seriously die?? This happened months ago! I guess when you die, your Heaven is scenes from your happiest moments in life.
"Jon?" He couldn't hear me.
"Jon!!" Finally he looked in my direction. I felt the butterflies again when he did. I really missed those butterflies.
"Hey! Where have you been?" He asked smiling.
"I was jogging and I blacked out. I'm guessing I'm dead.. and now I'm here." I explained. Saying it out loud made it sound even more crazy!
"Jogging? On the beach?" Jon asked confused.
"No...? In Nevada...in the desert."
"Annaleigh, we're in California." He replied.
"That's actually pretty cool!" I heard Jon say.
"Yea. One Easter after church, my dad told me the story. And it's been stuck on my heart ever since."
Jon and I turned to see ourselves talking and laughing like we did all those months ago.
What in the world is going on?! Jon then turned to me scared and confused.
"Miss?" He spoke.
"Miss? Jon it's me, Annaleigh."
"Miss??" He said again.
"Jon, stop! It's me! Why are you calling me miss?! You're scaring me!"
"Miss!!"
Suddenly I felt something very cold and wet hit my body. Just like that... Jon, California, and that whole memory was fading away. I fought hard to get it back and protect it, but to no avail.
I was gasping for air. I had no idea what was going on. I opened my eyes and realized I was back in the desert. I think.
"There you are! Thought I lost you for a second."
I turned to see a young man.
"Where am I?" I asked still confused on if this was reality or something else.
"Las Vegas, Nevada." He answered.
"...But.. I was in California."
"No...? You're in the desert. In Nevada. Come on. Let's get you checked out."
"Jon! Where's Jon?" I asked.
"You were by yourself ma'am."
"No. Jon was here. I need to find him." I stated getting up only to find the earth spinning again.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Take it easy killer. Here drink this." The man said handing me a bottle of water.
I drank the offered water while trying to gather my strength.
"What's your name?" The man asked.
"Annaleigh." I answered.
"Wow! Pretty and unique like yourself!" He said flashing a flirtatious smile. "I'm Adam." He said offering his hand.
We sat in silence for a few minutes while I got my strength back.
"You were really pushing yourself." Adam noted. "Oh! I almost forgot! I think this belongs to you." He said handing me my Ipod.
"Thanks." I said. "Wait... were you following me?" I asked a little freaked out.
"Sort of." He answered honestly. "But in my defense, you were running like something or someone was chasing you. So... out of good conscience, I thought I'd follow you to make sure you were safe. And then you fainted." Adam explained.
I had to admit, even though I was a little creeped out, it was nice knowing that there are still good, descent humans left.
"So...who's Jon? If you don't mind me asking."
"He's my boy-ex boyfriend." I answered broken hearted.
"Ah. I'm guessing from the hurt tone in your voice that he recently became an ex." He stated. I nodded. We didn't speak for another few minutes.
"Are you hungry?" Adam asked.
I was hungry, but I had vowed to punish myself for losing Jon.
"Come on. I'm starving! Don't worry about expenses. This one's on me." Adam said offering his hand to help me up. I stared at it not moving. I was no stranger to these kind of tricks.
"It's not a date. I promise. It's just that you look like you haven't eaten in days and sitting here sulking in the desert will get you nowhere. Plus eating by yourself... kind of makes you look pathetic." Adam said laughing nervously.
I sat there and pondered his theory for a moment. He had a point. After a mental battle, I accepted his invitation and followed him to his car. His opened my side and we drove off.
At the restaurant, Adam talked about growing up in West Virginia, his childhood and shared a few memories with me. Adam was cute. He was a little taller than me, brown shaggy hair and hazel eyes. He has a major in both Digital Film and one in Game Designing. Both fit his personality well. I will admit that I was having fun. I even caught myself laughing a real life at times.
"So tell me, you've heard a little about me, but what about you? What brings you to Nevada?" Adam asked.
"Uh... well, this is going to sound crazy, but my job." I said smiling.
"That's not crazy at all. What is it that you do?"
"I'm actually a... WWE Diva." I answered.
"What?! Get out of here! No way!"
"Way." I said laughing.
"Wow! I would've never guessed you to be a professional wrestler. No offense, but you don't look like a Diva."
I scoffed. "What's a Diva suppose to look like?"
"You know... huge boobs that you can easily see are fake, a ton of plastic surgery, and look much bigger than the men." He answered laughing at his own comment.
"Obviously it's been a while since you've watched WWE." I said joining in his laughter.
"It has actually. I'm going to have to start watching again! I have a reason to now." He said smiling in my direction. Even Adam's smile was cute... but he was no Jon.
After dinner, he dropped me off at my apartment. I took a shower and decided to lie down. I was beginning to doze off when I heard my phone beep. I looked at my phone and noticed I had a text from Joe.
Joe: Hey Anna! Hope you're okay. Listen um...we're heading back early. Something's happened. I'll explain when we get there. See you in a few days!
