After this week, we were granted a few days off before our Contenders matches. The boys and I were headed back home to Nevada. The boys planned to relax and play video games or go out on a few dates. I on the other hand didn't want to be cooped up in the apartment over the next few days, much less Vegas. Criss Angel would be performing at the Luxor. So there will be a ton of tourists! That's the downside of living in Vegas. No, I wanted to be spontaneous and just go somewhere. I knew the boys would decline, and I didn't just want to go by myself, so I thought of someone else.

Me: Hey! What's up?

Dean: Not much. Just heading home for a few days. You?

Me: Same! How far are you?

Dean: An hour and a half. Why? You?

Me: Same. No reason just curious.

Dean: Are you mimicking me?

Me: LOL! No. Hey do you mind meeting me somewhere?

Dean: Okay. Where? Just me? Seth and Roman are with me too this weekend.

Me: Oh... never mind then. I don't want to keep you from your friends.

Dean: No no. It's fine. Where do you want to meet?

Me: The Desert

Dean: Okay. What time?

Me: 2:30 pm

Dean: Okay. All of us? Or just me?

Me: Just you.

Dean: Okay. Everything okay?

Me: Yea! Just want to ask you something.

Dean: Okay. See you at 2:30.

Me: Okay. Be safe!

Dean: You too.

Me: Always.

***Dean's P.O.V***
I sat my phone down and looked out the window. "Wonder why she wants to talk to me." I thought.
"Who was that?" Roman asked not taking his eyes off of the road.
"Annaleigh."
"What'd she want?" Seth asked.
"She asked if we could meet somewhere."
"Why?"
"She needs to ask me something."
"Everything okay?"
"She said everything's okay. But I get the feeling something's wrong."
"You want us to go with you?" Roman asked.
"No she just wants me." I answered.
"Oh. Man that sounds pretty serious." Roman said his face filled with concern.
"She probably just wants to ask you out." Seth said smiling.
"Shut it Rollins. She's not going to ask me out." I said annoyed.
"You sure everything's alright with her?" Roman asked.
"She says everything's fine..."
"Hmmm. I don't know man. That sounds weird. It better not be her friend setting you up for something! Otherwise I will beat him to a pulp." Roman said. I hadn't thought of that, but I doubt Annaleigh would let Hillbilly set me up... unless she didn't know. I don't know. Something was wrong. I could feel it.
***Annaleigh's P.O.V***
We arrived in plenty of time to unpack what I needed to. I decided that I wanted to go to California for my days off, I just hoped Dean would say yes. I told the boy what I planned to do, and of course they weren't too thrilled but I didn't let them know I had a traveling partner. That is, if Dean says yes.
I rented a convertable, packed my bags and my C.D's. I decided that whether or not Dean said yes, I was still going. I made it on time to the desert and found myself becoming suddenly nervous. I had no idea why either. I mean, it's Dean! I talk to him all the time and I've even hung out with the guy! But then again, I've never asked him to go out of state with me either. But it couldn't be any different than traveling with WWE could it? I was so lost in thought that I didn't see Dean walk up.
"Hey." He said. Startled, I jumped. "Whoa! Hey! It's just me... calm down. You alright?"
"Yea sorry! Didn't see you walk up."
"Obviously... so what's up? What'd you need to ask me?" He asked getting straight down to business.
"What are you doing over the next two days?"
"Really? You have me come all this way just to ask me that?" He laughed
"No really!"
"Probably just catch up on sleep. Go work out... maybe have a few drinks with Joe and Colby...why?" He asked. Suddenly, the butterflies I had earlier were even stronger now.
"Feeling spontaneous?" I asked with a grin.
"Depends... why are you asking?" Dean laughed. Gah his smile killed me!
"Well, we both have two days to ourselves and I don't want to be cooped up in my apartment or bothered by tourists, so I was thinking road trip and wanted to know if you'd like to go with me." I explained.
"Actually, that sounds cool. Where to?"
"California."
"California?! What's in California?!" He asked shocked. His reaction startled me so I back up a few steps.
"The beach. I've never been to the beach so I thought now's the perfect time. And a change of scenery would be nice." I answered calmly.
"You've never been to the beach?" He asked surprised.
"Dude I'm from Texas! We don't have beaches we have prairies." He smiled at my comment and stood there rubbing the back of his neck. The silence was killing me! Finally he responded.
"Hell why not. Let me pack a few things. What time are you wanting to leave?"
"As soon as you're packed and ready. I've rented a car and everything. Don't worry about expenses, this trip is on me. I just didn't want to go by myself." I said.
"So why'd you ask me?" He asked smiling. I blushed. I wanted to tell him it was because I liked him. Because I wanted to get to know him better but I couldn't bring myself to get the words out.
"Well the boys will be stuck playing their games this weekend and I didn't know anyone else."
"Oh." He looked disappointed and I felt bad for making him feel that way, but unless I knew how he felt, I wasn't saying a word!
***Dean's P.O.V***
"Wait What?! You're going where??" Seth asked. I laughed at his reaction.
"California."
"Why California?" Roman asked.
"Annaleigh's never seen the beach, and she asked me to go." I explained.
"With you... are we missing something?" Seth asked confused.
"No...?"
"I mean, are you guys together?"
"No Lopez. She just invited me. She didn't want to go alone."
"Dude that can't be the only reason. She likes you." Roman chimed in.
"Doubt that. Anyways, I'm out. You two have fun."
"Are you going to make a move?" Roman asked.
"What?"
"Are you going to make her yours?"
"No! Look, I told you guys already that I'm not the guy for her. She needs someone who's better off." I said.
"You may think that Jon, but maybe she needs you. Maybe you guys need each other."
"I'm out." I said and closed the door behind me. That conversation was getting way too deep! I know they mean well, but I'm not the guy for Annaleigh. As much as I would like to be, she's better off being with someone like that Tyler guy. I know he really likes her. It's written all over his face.
I made it to Annaleighs apartments, she was leaning up against a convertable. She saw me coming and had a huge smile on her face. I could honestly see her smile everyday.
"Hey! You ready?" She asked.
"Yep! But..." I looked at the car in disbelief. "Really? A convertable? It's such a chick car." I griped making a face. She rolled her eyes and laughed,
"Hey! It's a nice day out and I chose black. I could've chose pink or another girlie color." She smiled.
"True. Alright, let's get this show on the road."
We loaded up and hit the road. She turned on the radio and started singing along.
"Eric Church. Nice!" I said tapping my fingers to the beat. I looked over and noticed she was staring. "What?"
"You know Eric Church?" She asked.
"Yea. I'm a fan. His music is something I can relate to. He's a rebel, I'm a rebel, he plays by his own rules, so do I... I like country."
"Huh. You don't strike me as the country music type." She said smiling.
"I'm full of surprises." I winked.
"Oh my gosh my song!!" She yelled turning up the volume.

They roll the sidewalks in this town
All up after the sun goes down
They say nothin' good happens here
When midnight rolls around
But layin' down would be in vain
I can't sleep with you on my brain
And I ain't anywhere close to tired
Your kiss has got me wired
...It's still early out in Cali, baby, don't you wanna rally again
We'll find a road with no name, lay back in the slow lane
We don't have to go home, we can leave the night on
We can leave the night on

"Good so- what the hell are you doing?!" I yelled. Annaleigh was standing up, her arms spread out, eyes closed and wind blowing her hair. I quickly grabbed the wheel. She sat back down laughing.
"Sorry I just couldn't resist. That song pumps me up.
"Well let's find a song that doesn't do that so we can live another day shall we?"
I looked through her C.D's and popped one in.

You are my fire
The one desire
Believe when I say
I want it that way

"Really? Backstreet Boys??" I asked making a face.
"Hey! Don't hate on BSB!" She said. I rolled my eyes and switched to a different song.

You're all I ever wanted
You're all I ever needed, yeah
So tell me what you do now
Cause (I, I, I, I, I,) I want you back

I groaned. Nsync. I took that C.D out and found a Def Leopard C.D. There we go!
"You listen to this?" I asked now surprised.
"Yep! I listen to anything with a good beat and that tells a story."
"Huh."
The car ride was enjoyable. We talked most of the way and even enjoyed comfortable silence. I'm looking forward to seeing what these next two days have in store with Annaleigh Halliwell.
