I wanted so badly to let my body rest but I knew better than to with the now enemy pack nearby. I opened my eyes to see Jason still sitting before me, his concern and pity pissed me off more than it should have. I wasn't in the mood to be around others at the moment and I'd much rather be somewhere alone.

I pushed off the ground and brushed past Jason, and headed in the direction of the pack house.

I need time to think. Leave me alone. I said lowly before darting off into the trees.

He didn't respond, and I was very thankful for that.

As the trees blurred past me I couldn't help but see Images of the man I killed and my dead mother in my head, both bloody images leaving a lasting imprint. Am I becoming the men who killed my mother? I felt no remorse when I ended his life.. but he hurt those young wolves!

I clenched my teeth to stop a howl that wanted to break through and instead focused my attention on running. I was no longer headed in the direction of the pack, the last thing I wanted was to be surrounded by other people.

Dustin, you did the right thing back there. You don't have to be so hard on yourself.. what we did felt more than right and I wouldn't change a thing. My wolfs words rang true to me but I didn't want to believe it. I shouldn't kill unless they're attacking me.. but what would have happened if I didn't kill him? It shocked the other wolf to the point he couldn't speak and it gave us a safe exit.

My thoughts were cut off by the change in environment. I was no longer running through a snowy forest, but now I stood before a small frozen pond. It was a small oasis amidst the vast evergreens that spanned the area. I padded over to the pond and gazed down at the ice, it had a soft blanket of snow covering it. I ran a paw across to clear it away, surprisingly the ice was very clear and I could see the water beneath.

I carefully walked further onto the ice before brushing away more and lying down. I gazed down at the world below and let my mind be at ease. The cold atmosphere brought a warmth to my soul that I couldn't explain.. I felt completely at peace being among the snow and trees.

I slowly dropped my guard and let my eyes close, the weight of the day finally being too much to bare and I finally let myself have a moment of rest.

A cold touch brought my attention back from sleep and I slowly opened my eyes. Before me stood another wolf.. another white wolf.

I scrambled to my feet but quickly fell back down in the process, forgetting I was on ice. The wolf before me let out a laugh before rising to their feet. I stared up at them with wide eyes as they walked closer to me. Their white coat was glistening with a soft gold, and their size was one that out shown even Jason. My fur stood on end at the aura they emitted and I found myself lowering my head in submission.

It is good to finally meet you young wolf. I'm sorry for the rude introduction but it was better to do this now. The large wolf paused before cocking their head to the side. Lets go talk over on the solid ground. I quickly followed behind them and sat down on the snowy ground, they did the same. My eyes wandered around the space, it looked the same as before but now it seemed too perfect. The snow was untouched and the sky was a brilliant blue when before it was an overcast.. and this gold and white wolf was not like anything I've seen before.

I'm sure you have a lot of questions regarding who I am and I promise to answer many in time. For now I wanted to officially meet you and give you some guidance on who you are. Now.. I don't have much time so please do not interrupt. The wolf rose up again, I will not give you my origins until you are ready but know that you have much more than just the color of your fur and bite of your jaw, you posses abilities that other wolves could never understand. You have the gift of utilizing different Greek words to create powers that will aid you. I will unlock some of this knowledge before I depart to assist you. The wolf walked closer to me. Their presence had me once again bowing before them.

You are such a wise young wolf.. and the potential is immense. I cannot say more, but I will return soon. For now you must get back to your realm and trust your instincts.. you know more than other wolves. The wolf nuzzled me softly before offering a few more words. Meet here again when you feel lost. Take care young one, and know that the Red Ridge Pack has more secrets hidden than what you know.

The wolf swiped its tail across my eyes, I quickly reopened them and found myself lying in the center of the frozen pond. I looked all around and saw no trace of the wolf that was before me.

A strong pain came out of no where and I whimpered out. I shifted back to human and clutched at my head, tears pricking at my eyes. Words filled my head.. images of abilities.. wolves.

I cried out as the pain reached a peak and soon I found myself getting sick in the snow. I collapsed on my side as is slowly began to subside. Breathing heavily, I let myself take a moment to overcome what just happened. I originally thought I had dreamt that wolf and that none of it was real.. but the things I understand now tell me otherwise.

I lied on my back and stared up at the cloudy sky. Snow had begun to fall and the small snowflakes kissed the skin of my face. And now as I thought back on the things I did today, I was no longer upset with myself but filled with pride for saving the lives of those wolves even at the expense of another.
