The run back was near silent. I didn't even have any words that I wanted to share.. I was so lost in thought over the knowledge my wolf held back there and the fact that we couldn't sense those other wolves previously. Not to mention.. something felt very, very wrong. How had we not previously known that other wolves resided here?

They lacked any scent as well. We need to speak with the Alpha about this when we get back.. This has the potential to be a big problem for us, especially since we're just moving into this new territory.

We made it back within fifteen minutes and walked past the houses that led to the pack house. Some people were still unloading their cars or pulling into their new homes.

"Dustin! Wait up!"

Jason and I stopped in our tracks and glanced behind. A young woman with pixie auburn hair was running over to us.

"Oh gosh thank you for stopping! I've never formally met you Dustin but I'm one of the pack members here."

I offered her a nod and sat down before tilting my head.

" I just wanted to thank you for saving those young wolves. My mate and I both starting the paperwork to adopt one of them! We've been struggling to have a pup of our own and now we finally get to be parents." She clasped her hands in front of her and her eyes lit up at the idea, " I just really wanted to say thanks."

She jumped forward and wrapped her arms around me, she softly whispered " I can't imagine what you went through, my house is always welcome to you. The little blue ranch house with the red door." She gave me one finally squeeze before letting go and running off back to her home.

I felt my eyes mist over as I watched her walk up to her mate and huge him tightly. I felt a nudge against my shoulder and looked over to meet the worried eyes of Jason. I offered him a forced smile before standing back up and heading toward the pack house. The Alpha was already waiting outside.

I'm not in the mood to talk right now.

I went passed him and through the open front door, Jason wasn't following so I assume he was going to speak with him now.

I trudged up to our floor, and hoped to avoid any further contact with people. I let out an audible sigh as I stared at the closed door to our room.

"Here, I got it."

I didn't need to look back to see who it was.

Jasons hand reached over and opened the door for me. I nudged it the rest of the way with my nose before walking into the unfamiliar space. I was excited at the prospect of a new home but now it was beginning to weigh down on me. When would I get to see the softness of snow and the warmth that it brought my soul?

"I'm going to speak with the Alpha, I just need a run down of what went on with you and your wolf. Please do not hide anything.. this is important." His voice was stern.

He quickly opened one of the boxes that held my clothes and tossed me a shirt and shorts. I caught them in my mouth before walking off to the bathroom.

What all can I tell him? I asked my wolf as I let the shift take over.

Go ahead and tell him everything. We don't have any reason to hide this.

I pulled on the shirt and shorts and glared at my reflection in the mirror. I was feeling that familiar anger boil inside me as I looked at my obnoxious white hair. So much has changed.. I've been in so many places and I feel like as a whole I'm changing. I'm not used to being apart of a pack like this, and so much of me still wants to handle things alone.. but I can't do that anymore. I have to learn and adjust to this life if I want to make any progress in this world.
