I couldn't feel anything from him. I've called out to him hundreds of times but it was just like yelling in an empty room. My hands gripped my hair tightly as I scoured the depths of my mind for anything that could help us.. A hand landed on my shoulder, my eyes flickered up and a growl surged past my lips. Raven stumbled back with his hands up in a defensive manor.
"Sorry.. I'm just here to tell you that the Alpha has sent out search parties to look for him." I gave him a quick nod before sitting back down on the edge of the bed.
What if he's dead? What if he's dying right now.. and I'll never see him again? My eyes looked to raven before staring down at the floor. I should have known he would get a guardian.. But it's not common knowledge. Only a legend I suppose. The books I've read only had speculations of what would occur. Nothing more, nothing less.
I glanced up to see Raven standing there with his arms folded over his chest. His eyes were scanning the forest beyond the large glass window.
"Can you turn into some kind of bird, Raven?" I said barely above a whisper.
"I can turn into a Raven.. hence the name." He said to the glass, not bothering to turn around.
"I have an idea."
That caught his attention. He slowly turned around and stared at me, his eyes a swirling black pool. No emotion was shown on his face.. it was just blank. I sighed feeling guilty.
"Well.. first I'm gonna need you to take your Raven form and fly above the forest looking for any sign of him" I said commanding. Raven shrunk slightly at my voice but composed himself quickly before nodding.
A black fog slowly formed around him, "Is this how you always change?" I asked
"Only when I'm feeling dramatic," He smirked. His legs slowly disappeared along with his arms. In its place, large wings sprouted and claws grew. The fog slowly faded away, and amidst the dissipation hovered a black bird. I gave him a nod and he flew out, right through the glass. I walked toward it, placing my palm against it as I watched the bird fly up toward the tree tops and vanish beyond them.
I walked back to the bed and lied down on the soft blankets. I need to find out whose in the area... with that I rose up and headed toward our stash of books.
I trudged through the hallways, people tried to strike a conversation with me but I just ignored them and continued on my way down the hall.
The library was tucked away at the far end of the house. People seemed wary about entering it but I wasn't. I pushed open the white double doors and let my eyes wander the finished space. Shelves were lined up in rows, filled to the brim with colorful books that were waiting to be read.
I quickly walked down an aisle, looking for the mating book.
I grabbed the rusty red book and slid to the floor,
Table of Contents.
Chapter 1: The bond
Chapter 2: Barrier
Chapter 3: Seeing through their eyes
I froze at that part. Seeing through their eyes? What the hell does that mean?
I quickly flipped through the pages till I reached chapter three.
Once you've found your mate another feature that you require is being able to see through there eyes. This will help if one is in a dangerous situation or if both are separated for a long period of time. You must be careful though when doing this, because it causes the mate to go blind while you use this ability.
Seeing through their eyes is very simple. It's the same with turning yourself into a werewolf or switching back to human. You just have to imagine yourself as your mate, keep your eyes closed and rid yourself of distraction. This ability may not work for wolves of a lower rank. The user will not feel any discomfort, but the mate will. It is best to warn them ahead of time so they can better prepare.
I shut the book, and took a deep breath. I guess this is worth a shot.
--Dustin---
"..ustin" a voice flowed into my ear causing me to swat at the noise.
"Dustin!" A hand gripped my wrist tightly, my eyes snapped open as I looked at the intruder. Dom was leaning over me with worry in his eyes.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked.. I nodded slightly before looking around the room.
I was back in the witches room with the heavy collar around my neck. I sighed softly and curled up. My back stung slightly earning a hiss from me.
"Dustin?" Dom quickly grabbed at the shirt I had on, he tore it into two before staring down at my back. He cursed before standing up and running out of the room. I glanced at where he ran off to before shutting my eyes. I wanna go home..
"This might sting a bit.."
I grit my teeth and awaited the inevitable pain. I felt his hand rub a cool cream on my back, but it was quickly replaced by a strong burn. I let out a low growl and squeezed my eyes shut as I waited for the pain to subside.
"Sorry.. I don't want the wound to get infected."
"What's it even from?" I asked as I slumped back onto the floor.
"Probably from whatever spell she cast. She hasn't really had a submissive who fought back against her."
I groaned against the floor, "So what do we do now?"
"Well we can try the heat spell if you want?"
"How do you even know how to do spells? I know shes a witch werewolf hybrid, but you're not."
He sat against the door again, "I've picked up somethings. It takes a large toll on my body when I cast any but anyone can really learn." He pulled up his knees and looked to the ceiling, "She wasn't always like this but.. Something within this pack has changes. And when I passed.. It flipped a switch in her. This pack is a bad place to be and you need to get out. Her 'pets' do not survive. She and the rest of these people are teamed up with another pack around here.. They have plans to-" I yelled out before he could finish.
My vision was changing.. Shifting. A black fog was slowly covering my eyes and I was losing my ability to see. I lied on my back and tried to get a grip on the floor as I began to panic.
"Dom! My vision.. I can't see!"
I felt his hands grip my wrists to keep me from moving around.
"Shh.. it's okay Dustin. Just take a deep breathe.. I'm right here with you." He whispered, and softy rubbed my wrists.
