We sat hunched over in  the chairs for an undocumented amount of time. I was progressively getting a head ache from the amount of pacing my wolf was doing within me. The pressure in my skull was steadily becoming a problem. I gripped the side of my head and sighed softly before slumping back in the chair.

"You okay?"

It was just Jason and I in the room now with his father.

"My wolf won't stop pacing, its really wearing on my head."

"That's odd.. that really shouldn't cause you any discomfort." Jason was looking at me odd now.

Tell Jason to leave. My wolf commanded.

What? I can't do that! This is his father.

I felt my heart rate speeding up. My wolf was fighting for control.

If you don't, I will. He growled.

I gripped the edge of the chair, my body going ridged as I fought against my wolf.

"Dustin? Whats wrong?" I felt Jasons cool hand on my forehead, but the feeling was short lived. My wolf overpowered me and I was pushed the the depths where he usually lay.

We rose up from the chair and looked down on Jason. His eyes switched at the challenge my wolf was showing.

"Jason, we need you to leave for a moment. Do not question this until after." My wolfs voice was extremely authoritative and held no ounce of the submissive wolf that we naturally are.

"Am I speaking with Dustins wolf?"

We simply nodded.

Jason didn't say another word and simply left.

My wolf receded back and I was once again in control.

We might be able to save him. His voice was much calmer than before.

How is that possible?

Though this isn't what we're meant to do.. it's still possible. We may be able to take some of his pain and ailment and transfer it to us.

I didn't answer immediately and let what he said sink in. Is this why he was pacing around so much? Previously when we received new information is caused a great deal of pain..

Can you handle this? Our body can handle more thanks to what we are, and we won't take all of it.. enough so he can properly heal.

Yes. Anything to save Jasons father and our Alpha.

The air in the room suddenly shifted, It was cool and time seemed to still.

Its good to see the progress  you are making young wolf.

I spun around, my eyes meeting the vibrant ones of the white wolf.

You never seem to have a moment of rest.. live is coming at you very hard and testing every inch of you. I'm here to offer some more guidance.. though.. this isn't really what your specialty will be. Your wolf already knows, but I wanted to tell you in person.

There was still so much I didn't know about this wolf.. but I was excited to learn more about who I am.. This being brings such a calm to me..

What you're about to do will not be easy. You are not meant for this sort of thing and it will be very taxing on your body.. but you are a winter wolf.. and you can handle it.

"What do I have to do? How can I help him?" I was anxious to save him now.. what other things have I yet to learn?

Patience. I will explain.. you must bite his wrist and let his blood fall on your tongue. The inner workings of this will be explained in time.. for now.. just know that's all you need to do. This will not work on others, only those of higher power. Be quick young wolf, before they begin to question.

The large wolf rested their head on my shoulder before vanishing among the dust.

I spun back around and looked down at the dying man before me. I picked up a frail hand that seemed to lack tubes, and I carefully brought it to my lips. I squeezed my eyes shut and sunk my teeth into his flesh. My eyes burst open as I felt my canines elongate and the warmth of his blood wash over my  tongue. A static feeling began spreading through my body as I took my mouth away. My fangs were still present as I backed away from his body. Color was slowly resurfacing on his once pale face.

The static had now spread completely throughout my body, but the feeling was short lived. Pain abruptly struck me and knocked the wind from my lungs. I fell back against the chair knocking it to the floor and collapsing along with it. I gripped at my chest as my heart hammered inside my rib cage. I cried out as the pain increased, my vision slowly dotting and wavering.

I heard someone faintly call my name, but all I could focus on was what was coursing through my body. The ground fell beneath me and I quickly grabbed on to whatever caused it. Soft, melodic sounds filled my ears, very slightly calming my frantic heart.

I let myself give in to the darkness.

I groaned softly as I woke up from a deep sleep. My eyes fluttered open and I glanced around the white room. The door was gently shut and I heard footsteps leading away. I quickly jumped from my bed and ran out the door. Jason was walking down the hall, his head hung low and his hands in his pockets.

"Jason! Wait!" I called, but he didn't answer. He kept walking down the hall and up the stairs. I followed after him, repeatedly calling his name.

I followed him into our room, finally managing to get a look at his face. He wore a somber expression, his eyes glistening with un-shed tears.

What's going on?

"Jason, please! Why are you ignoring me!?" I begged. I felt myself begging to panic as I watching him slump down on the couch. He held his head in his hands and let sobs shake his whole body. I crouched down in front of him.

"Jason.. please.. what's wrong?" I asked. My expression matched his own.

"Dustin.."

I was about to respond but he cut me off, "You're so stupid.." He cried.

I felt taken back. I rose up to my feet and backed away from him.

There was a knock on the door before an odd sound came in. I glanced over and saw a bandaged Alpha walk through the door, he used crutches to move around.

"Any news on Dustin, Alpha?" Jason asked as he wiped away stray tears.

The Alpha collapsed down on a chair and let the crutches fall to his side.

"No word yet.. He hasn't shown any signs of activity.. no one's sure if he will wake up."

Wake.. up?

No no no..

I backed away from the two men and ran out the door. What are they talking about!? I ran back downstairs and to the infirmary where I previously lay.

My breath was caught in my throat as I reentered the room. A white haired boy was lying lifelessly on the bed. Wires and monitors were attached to various parts of him. I slowly walked forward to better to his face.

It was me.

Wolf! What do I do!? I cried out into my mind. I collapsed to the ground and awaited a response, but none came.

Please! I begged.

It was so empty.. and lonely.

I curled up against the bed and simply cried.
