Prologue
"What did you say?"
Mizzy hurled all the cheesy fries she's been chewing. May mga ibang pirasong tumalsik sa mukha ng kaharap niya— si Lee.
"Sorry. Sorry." Mizzy helped wipe Lee's face. Ang iba pa nga ay napunta sa buhok nito. But her face is still deadpan. Like Lee kind of expected this reaction, and even more. "Kasi naman frenny. Huwag ka ngang nagbibiro ng ganyan." Mizzy started laughing. But she realized Lee still isn't even moving a muscle.
"Seryoso talaga?! Pupunta ka ng reunion?!"
Lee lightly nodded.
"Girl paano kung pumunta si... si Doc Odyssey?"
Lee's eyes darted towards the floor. Kakaiba pa rin epekto sa kanya ng pangalang 'yun. She noted on how Mizzy has enunciated his name.
Doc Odyssey.
Instinctively, Lee smiled. Bagay na bagay dito ang titulo bago ang pangalan nito. Doctor.
Hindi man ito doktor ng medisina, but he's a renowned scientist. A professor with a couple of PHDs. Of course. Even back then, He's already that Odyssey who had lots of potential kahit noong bata pa sila. Just with his perspective and worldview in life, alam na alam ni Lee dati pa lang na kaya nitong magtagumpay sa buhay. And he did. He is a vision of success today just like what he was before. And even more.
Her ex-boyfriend is taking the world by storm.
And people are not calling him Doc Lee instead. She guessed it's his preference. Dahil siguro ayaw na nitong ma-associate sa kanya. O baka nga maswerte pa siya kung ito ang dahilan. Even a little bit of anger, she will be pleased. Dahil alam niyang ngayon, wala na talaga silang koneksyon. Maybe he didn't even care a bit about her.
Her first name is the same as his last name. She's called Lee Gabriel, while he is Simon Odyssey Lee.
They are both LEEs in their senior class. And their common name is the very thing that brought them together. But maybe it's just a taboo now.
