Chapter 32: Brian's birthday (part 2)

She and Mary bought birthday gifts for Brian. There were a lot of things to buy there and because it was plenty, they find it hard to choose. But Mary bought a wonderful figurine. Jilliane still having a trouble what to give to Brian.

"We almost saw all the stalls in this mall...but you still cannot choose what to give him..." Mary said to her.

"I am sorry Mary... I only just want my present to be memorable for Brian. He is a special friend for me so i also want something special for his birthday." She replied.

"I understood...."

"Books about Physics and Astronomy is already common for him... For sure he had a lot of that kind of stuff in his home..."

"Let me guess..." Mary said and think. "Oh! There is one thing he also love besides Science"

"What is it?"

"Photography... He really love capturing photos!... Specially the Stereo Photography". Mary replied. "Maybe you can buy him one as a gift..."

"I think that is a good idea!"

"Come... I have a friend who have that kind of stuff! He can help us!" Mary said to her. They went there and bought it.

It's been dark when they went outside the mall.

"It's been dark already! You need to go home..."

"Yes you're right... You too!"

"You're way home  is different from me... Go on now!" Mary got her a taxi.

"Thank you very much Mary for the idea of what shall i give Brian tomorrow..."

"You're welcome Jilliane. And thank you also for reminding me... So now...see you tomorrow at Brian's house!"

"Yes... See you tomorrow Mary!" She smiled and they both kissed each other's cheek.

Jilliane entered inside the taxi and wave goodbye to Mary. The latter waved goodbye too. And the taxi was now on the way to her house.

The taxi stopped in the front of the house and she came out carrying her birthday present for Brian. She notice that Roger was still not at home for the house was dark. She entered the house and turned on the lights. She placed the birthday gift on her room and she looked around the house. She went outside and see if Roger's car is approaching but no cars was in sight.

She looked at her watch. It's 10 in the evening...and Roger was still not around. She began again to worry. Mostly Roger didn't told her when he will come home. She wait outside and watched the stars. A couple more minutes Roger is still not around. She felt hungry... So she went inside and looked at the fridge to find something to eat. She wants to eat a heavy meal but she found left overs. She got an idea. She made a Korean dish called "Bibimbap" from that left overs and mixed it on a bowl. And she started to eat. She enjoyed eating the food and at that time Roger already arrived entering the house.

Roger find Jilliane enjoying what she is eating. And the latter noticed her.

"Oh! Finally!... You're here!" She smiled while there were still food i  her mouth.

"Yeah!" Roger replied.

"Do you want to eat?" She asked while still eating.

"No...I'm full... I had my dinner with the band" Roger replied. He approached Jilliane and looked on what she is eating on the big  bowl. "What's that?"

"Korean bibimbap!...you want?"

"Yuck! It's a dog food!" Roger exclaimed.

"It's not a dog food! I just mixed all the left overs on the fridge. For i feel it will only be wasted. So instead of dumping it, i made it to Bibimbap!"

"No matter what you say...for me it is still a dog food!" Roger said.

"You're just saying it! It may look like a dog food but the taste is great!  Try to taste it! Come on! Try it! Give me a mouth!" Jilliane said to him and took a scoop and tried to give it to Roger.

"No i don't like! I do not eat left overs!" Roger refused.

"Such a brat!" She said.

"Oh... By the way... Do you already have a present for Brian?" He asked.

"Yes... And it is a bit expensive... But i believe he will like it!" She said while she eat.

"Well good ... I'm going now..." Roger said to her and starts to walk through the stairs.

"Goodnight!"Jilliane said.

Roger didn't said anything he just only nod and went to his room. Jilliane only looked at him and smiled.

Brian's birthday came, he invited some friends and close friends of his. Even the manager of the band John Reid was there and some friends of his wife Chrissie Mullen and their families. Jilliane and Roger both arrived at Brian's house, she saw a lot of people whom she do not know. She is not used to see these people and a party like this. She was only holding Roger on his arms. She is looked around and she saw John together with his wife Veronica having a chat with a couple whom she do not know.

"You're ok?" Roger asked her.

"Ahmmm...yes... Don't mind me..." She said to him.

"You're looking for Mary?" Roger asked her again.

"No... In fact i am looking for Brian". She said to him.

"Come... There they are!" Roger smiled at her and pointed Brian and Chrissie, talking to Freddie and Mary. And they are laughing. They approached them and they noticed them.

" Roger! Glad you're here now! Hi Jilliane!" Brian smiled to them.

"Happy Birthday Brian!...here is my gift for you" Jilliane said to him and gave her present to Brian.

"Oh! Thank you Jilliane... You don't have to... But... Still...thank you for this." Brian smiled again.

"It's nothing, compared to what you've done on me... You are a special friend of mine" Jilliane smiled at him. " I hope you will like it!"

"Well..." Brian shake the present, and wonder what it is inside and he smiled to her. "Don't worry... I think i will like it!... Oh by the way here is my wife Chrissie..." He introduce his wife to Jilliane.

"Hi! I'm Christine Mullen May..."

"Jilliane... Jilliane Ll-" she suddenly stopped and said "Jilliane Taylor"

"Yes... I was at your wedding... And we didn't have a chance to meet... But now here it is... You are really beautiful!" Chrissie praised her.

"Oh! blimey!" She exclaimed and her cheeks suddenly became red again.

"Hey!!! The Queen girls were all complete now!" Freddie suddenly interrupts with Mary beside him and John and Veronica was there too.

As Jilliane saw John and Veronica together she felt a bit sad and jealous. They look very happy and content, she saw Veronica's tummy, and she estimate she is 5 or 6 months pregnant in their first child. She felt a sudden prick on her heart, like a pin ball, that pain for her is undescribable  and that feeling was strange fir her. Maybe it's because she infatuated John and she envied Veronica. She even thought that if only she was the first to met John, maybe they become lovers and eventually married.
