Chapter 59: Aftermath

Roger was shocked to hear the "teaser song" in which DJ Kenny Everett played. He confirmed it really was "Bohemian Rhapsody" and he remembered Freddie and Jilliane was there right now.

"What the-.... Fuck Jilliane! What did you do and Freddie?!" He exclaimed to himself.

He called Brian on the phone.

"Hello...Brian May speaking!"

"Brian it's me Roger!" He said.

"Oh Rog! What's the problem?" Brian asked.

"Have you listened to the Capital Radio?" Roger asked.

"No...not..." Brian replied.

"They played it!"

"What?... What did they play?" Brian asked.

"Our Single! "Bohemian Rhapsody"! DJ Kenny Everett played it as a "teaser song"!" He exclaimed.

"For real?..where's Freddie?...how did he get a copy?" Brian asked.

"I do not know how he get it! But it has something to do with Freddie who is now there on Capital Radio today! Together with Jilliane!" He said.

"What?!... What the hell is happening?... For I know right until now EMI doesn't want allow it to be played on radio stations... Does Deaky already know it?" Brian asked.

" I will try to contact him..." He said.

Meanwhile, on the cab, Freddie and Jilliane were so happy.

"I never expect that Kenny is going to play it as a teaser! It really really not crossed to my mind!" Freddie said to her.

"Neither I... I just thought he only wants us to visit him... I never thought that tape copy is the main reason why he invited us....I was really shocked as he played it!" She replied.

"He us a real dare devil!..  he guarantee that he will going to play the full song tomorrow! Without any approval!" Freddie said.

"I know Maurice well... He will do what he likes, and was never afraid of risks... For him rules are meant to be broken!" She said to Freddie.

"I also want to thank you Jilliane!" Freddie said to her.

"For what?" She asked.

"You are one of the reasons why he played the copy tape. He knows you want to help us, so he took the initiative... To help you...and the band as well!" Freddie said to her.

"No... Don't thank me...and  the truth is I didn't do anything....it's just I accidentally mentioned the band's situation... In which triggered him to help..." She said to him.

"But for me honestly you helped a lot! Believe me! Once this single is released, as well as the album, i will make up to you!" Freddie said to her.

"You don't need to Freddie! I-"

" No no no! Dear! That is my promise!" He said to her with a smile

"... Alright... If that is what you want..."

"It is still early! Come! Let's have a bit of shopping! Don't worry i will treat you!"

"But Freddie.. Roger is going to-"

"Don't worry about that obnoxious cunt! He is old and can take care of himself! You are not his maid, you are "his wife" so he must not treat you like a slave!... I'll save you from him!" Freddie said to him.

She didn't said anything anymore. So she allowed herself to have a goodtime with Freddie.

It is already dark when she arrived at home. The house is dark and she thought Roger was not there. As she turned on the lights on the living room, she saw Roger looking at her.

"Why haven't you turn on the lights? I thought you're not here..." She said.

" Where have you been?" He asked.

"I... Me and Freddie just had a bit of good time... Sorry if I came late..." She replied.

"It is not what i am talking..." Roger said.

"...and.. what?'" she asked.

"You go and Freddie to the Capital Radio right?" Roger said but with a bit intense on his voice.

"Yyyes..."

"What did you do?!... Why that fuckin' DJ played that song?" Roger is now yelling.

"I don't know..." She replied.

"You do not know? You and Freddie are there!  And you know that it is still wasn't allowed to be played on radio! Freddie once said he just only gave a copy tape to that DJ but he didn't said that he must play it... But now what is this?! Why did he played it?... " Roger asked.

Jilliane cannot say anything to Roger.

"I do not know what triggered that DJ to play that song... What is the point of fault here was you! I told you it's not your problem but OURS! You made decision yourself again!!" Roger blurted out to her. He is mad.

"I... Just thought... I could help..."

"Help what help?! You're making the situation worst! I tell you! If the situation will become bad after this... I will never ever forgive you with this!" He said to her yelling angrily.

Roger went upstairs to his room and Jilliane was left crying. She never expected this things to happen. She doesn't want Roger to be mad at her. She felt the pain in her heart. And she was badly hurt on what Roger said to her. He is right, the band's problem is not her problem...and she interfered with this problem. What will she do if the situation gets worst?... DJ Everett is going to play the full song tomorrow. She felt so bad. And because of this, she decide to leave the house and go to her friend's house temporarily.

Meanwhile Roger throw all the things he hold. He is really mad. He is mad at Jilliane. He do not know why she interfered on the band's affairs. For him, Jilliane is out of the problem, he doesn't want her to be harmed. And he will never be able to forgive himself if she will get harm by the media and other circumstances caused by the chaotic world of music and show industry. This is one of the reasons why also they get married. Not just because Jilliane wants to retrieve her own house, and their careers to be saved, but also for her and her own safety. He feel that he has the obligation to safeguard her. He is afraid that the situation might harm her, and he knows she cannot
Defend herself.

He sighed and sat on the floor of his bed and light up a cigarette. He was in a deep thought that night.
