Chapter 30: Brian's Birthday. (part 1)

They had their lunch together and no one wants to give a talk. They are just sensing each other.

" Hey!... You're so silent!" Roger broke the silence between them.

" You're also silent..." Jilliane said in reply.

"That fuckin' adjustment is over! Get it!?" Roger said while eating.

"Ok..." Jilliane said rolling her eyes. "You're grand mum asked you if where you're going to celebrate your birthday...."

"...and?" Roger said.

"Do you have any plans to celebrate it?" She asked.

"It's not important at all... The band is now preparing for a new recording... In fact...Brian will be the first to celebrate his birthday before me.". Roger said.

"He will have his birthday too?...when?" Jilliane asked after hearing it from Him.

"Tomorrow...July 19" Roger said while eating and not looking at her.

"Oh! I must give him a gift!... Can you tell me what kind of gift i must have to give him?"

"Well, Brian is not a materialistic person, it is more enough for him to be greeted on his birthday than giving him presents... He is a kind of person who is not waisting time...and he is more fond of using recycled things than brand news". Roger said to her.

"Recycled things?... But right now it is hard to find already made recycled things...." Jilliane said to him.

"Well it is up to you if you wanna give him expensive presents... Oh!...i remember... He also loves badgers, he is a wild life advocate, and he loves Astronomy and Physics". Roger added.

"Astronomy and Physics?"

"Yeah!... It wasn't obvious but he is nerd... He really loves to study... Do you have any idea now what to give him?" Roger asked.

"I think... I already know what to give him... Thanks for the hints!" Jilliane smiled at him

"That's nothing!... Brian told me that he met you in Tokyo during our tour .."

"Yes... At the Prince Hotel in the receptionist accommodation area..." She said while eating.

"How did you met? If you don't mind? Why didn't i see you there...we are also on the same hotel that time..."

"That is the very first day i was in Japan, i got a lot of trouble finding Prince Hotel for the taxi driver do not know how to speak English. But after that incident, i got another trouble for the receptionist of the hotel told me that they do not have reserved room in my name...Brian interfered on us and he helped me to have my room in the hotel." She said continiously.

"So that is how you met Brian... And you met Deaky and Freddie in Nagoya right?"

"Yes..."

"But how come I met you accidentally in Shizouoka...in Atami?"

"...oh!...during that time i was obliged to move to another hotel near my itinerary location... But i got another problem, for the hotels in Shizouoka were so expensive but i do not have any choice, and we met unexpectedly near the marketplace ... by that time i am running out of money to buy a new plane ticket to go back here. That is the time i saw you again, as i was already out of money , i attempted to approach you to lend money..."

"So that's it!" Roger suddenly laughed. "...but how did you manage to go back here?..."

"Brian saw me at the hotel's park. He notice that i have a problem. I told everything on him and he took the initiative to lend me money to buy plane ticket back here. And that is how i met him and became friends with him." She replied.

"So Brian helped you..."

"Yes... Without his help, i may be forever stuck in that foreign country... I really thank him..." Jilliane smiled.

"... That time was also a hard time for him..." Roger said to her.

"Huh?!... But why?" Jilliane was surprised.

"... He was on recovery that time... He is taking medications for his cure in Hepatitis". Roger said. " Some of the places in our itinerary tour was been cancelled for he must go back to hospital immediately... And by that time also we need to manage the recording of whole album without him. We made incomplete recordings for it requires guitar work, but Brian diligently filled it after his hospitalization". Roger added.

"Oh!... I'm sorry... I do not know that he went through it.... If only i knew..." Jilliane apologise.

She felt sorry for the band especially to Brian. She really didn't know that he underwent medication during that time. She was really touched on his personality, for instead he needs money for his medication, he generously gave it to her without hesitation. Brian really has a big heart. So she said to herself that she will going to make up to him. And she will be his most friend.

"Don't worry about it anymore! Brian already recovered...as well as the band..." Roger said to her.

"Now i got my reasons to give him a gift on his birthday tomorrow! He has a heart of gold".

"Well... Now it is up to you...if you really want to give him a present ... " Roger said to her. "Oh! By the way... I am going to the studio today... Go and shop to buy him presents if you want" Roger said and stood up after finishing his lunch.

" Wait for me... I am already going... Let us go together... I am also going to Biba" she said and stood up for she was also finished eating.

"Alright. I'll wait in the car" Roger said while walking outside the house.

Jilliane starts to wash the dishes immediately, after that she went to her room to change clothes then went outside. She saw Roger inhaling his ciggie and looked at her.

"You're through?" He asked.

"Yes..." She replied.

"Come...let's go!" Roger went inside the car and Jilliane did also beside the driver's seat.

Together they left the house. Roger dropped her on Biba and it already went to the studio. She came to Biba and saw Mary Austin checking the inventories.

"Good afternoon Mary!" She said to Mary while smiling.

"Oh! Jilliane...it's nice to see you here!" Mary exclaimed and kissed her cheek. "What brought you here?"

" I just want you to accompany me to buy a birthday present for Brian..." She said to Mary.

"Oh! I nearly forgot that it was his birthday tomorrow! Thank you for reminding me dear!..." Mary smiled to her.

" But i guess you're busy today... I'm sorry if I'd bother you..." She said.

"No... I was not busy... I just checked the inventory... In fact i am already going out from work now..." Mary said.

"So you're only half day today?" Jilliane asked.

"Yeah... Right... I will accompany you...and i will also buy my presents for him" Mary said. "Stay here... I'll just log out!"

"Ok"

She wait there and after a short while Mary came to her and they both went out to Biba to go to a nearby mall to buy some birthday gift.
