Chapter 56: DJ Kenny Everett

It's already a week since the band submit their album recordings on EMI. As Freddie stands for his song "Bohemian Rhapsody" as their carrier single for their album "A Night At The Opera", EMI also stands on their ground not to release it and not to be played on any radio stations especially the major ones, causing the Queen Album release to be in pending.

The band didn't plea them to release it for they stand on their word. On the other hand Jilliane still felt worried, worried for the band especially Roger. She doesn't know why, but she feel that something is obliging her to help the band on their problem. But she really do not know how. She always caught Roger being alone in the living room inhaling his cigarette, or sometimes walking on their backyard and looking at the sea. She wonder what is on his mind. She felt it is related to the unreleased album. If only she can read his mind, or ease his unspoken feeling.

She saw Roger on the living room, again on the same routine... Thinking deep and inhaling his cigarette and she was noticed by him.

"I am going to the supermarket... We do not have stocks..." She smiled to him.

"Are you going to commute?" Roger asked.

"Yes..." She replied.

"No.. don't commute... I'll go with you!" He said.

"Is it ok with you?..." She asked.

"Yeah!... We do not have stocks so it means you'll buy many... And you cannot carry it yourself if you commute. And besides... I have nothing to do here..." Roger said to her.

"Well... Alright...if that is what pleases you..." She said to him and she went out.

Roger followed her outside carrying his keys and went to the garage and started the car. Jilliane entered it and they both went to the supermarket.

As they went to the supermarket, Roger decides to remain on the car and Jilliane is be the one to buy the stocks they needed. She searched for the necessary things for their home and placed it on the push cart.

"What more do i need at home?..." She asked herself. "...oh!.. milk... Roger loves milk..." She said.

She went to the corner where dairy products are there. She knew in just a nick of time that Roger never used to drink a delivered milk for his tummy is weak on it, even though he lived in Cornwall for a very long time. He only drink sterilized. She smiled to this thought, for she learns to know Roger even in little things like this. As she was on the milk corner, a man went also on the dairy products looking for cheese. He is not looking on his way and just continue to stroll his pushcart, causing it to hit Jilliane's push cart. She turn her head on him.

"Oh! I am sorry!" The man replied.

They looked at each other and they are both surprised.

"Maurice?!" Jilliane exclaimed.

"You're..." The man said trying to know who exactly she is. "No... Don't tell me your name..." He exclaimed.

Jilliane smiled on him as this man continue trying to remember who she is.

"...Llwelyne!!! Jilliane Llwelyne!!" The man exclaimed while pointing her. "My God! I never expect to see you here!" He exclaimed and gave her a kiss on her cheeks.

"Yes... And also you... I never expect to see you here..." She smiled to him.

"Geeze! How are you now?!" He exclaimed.

"Here... I am fine... I already have a husband!" She said to him.

"Oh! How sad!" He exclaimed.

"Why?" She asked while still smiling.

"I'd been waiting long time for you to be my wife!" He said in which she laughed. "I thought were meant to be!...." He giggled. "No... Just kidding!" He smiled to her.

" I know! You're already saying that kind of jokes even before so I'm used to it!" She chuckled.

"Even I did court you! You're just the only one who reject me..." He said.

"Hey it's not that! It's just i do not have the same feelings as you do... You are a great friend to me..." She smiled.

"Yeah... I know... And our friendship is forever!" He exclaimed and smiled.

"What about you? How are you now?" She asked.

"Well... I also have a wife now... And I am working on Capital Radio as a Disk Jockey...." He said and whispered to her. "...Don't tell anyone here my secret! I am the famous DJ Kenny Everett".

"Oh! Really?... I don't even know!" She exclaimed. "I always listen to your program!" She lowered her voice.

"Ssshhhh!... Just keep quiet or else people here will going to flock me! But anyway thank you!" He said.

She just smiled. She never thought that her friend whose complete name is Maurice James Christopher Cole is the famous Capital Radio DJ Kenny Everett.

"So you're with your husband here?" Kenny said.

"Yes... He remain inside the car and waiting for me..." She said to him.

"Alright... Would you mind telling me what is his work?" Kenny asked.

"He's a musician... A drummer of a rock and roll band." She said.

"Rock and roll... Ok... What's the band's name?" He asked.

"Queen..." She replied.

"Queen... You mean... You know Freddie Mercury?" He asked.

"Yes.. he is their front man... But I was married to their drummer Roger Taylor" she said.

"I see... I see... I know Freddie... He is my friend... We saw each other just the other day... He visit me in my house..." Kenny said.

"Ok... You know what... I feel so sorry for them..." She said.

"Feel sorry?... Why?" He asked.

" About their still unreleased album... EMI doesn't want their carrier single to be played on any radio station... For they said it is too long..." She said. "...the band said...if their song will never be played in radio, then the album has no chance to be released. ..." She added.

Kenny just listened to her and was now in a serious thought.

"Is their carrier single's name for the album is.... "Bohemian Rhapsody? Or on the B side "I'm In Love With My Car"?". He asked.

"Yes... That Bohemian Rhapsody... But how did you know?" She asked in reply.

"As i told you, Freddie visit me in my house and he gave me this song's copy... He even said to me I must not play it on air..." He said.

"Yes... That's it... Maybe he felt no hope for it to be played on radios... I really felt sorry for them... I had witnessed their hard work just to complete their album and they deserve the album to be released. If only i could help them..." She felt sad.

Kenny saw sadness on Jilliane's eyes...and he saw her sincerity and goodwill for them.

"Thank you for saying this things to me!" He said to her.

"What? But...why are you thanking me?" She asked.

"Do not worry...Jilliane... Their album will be released....I assure you that!" He said.

"But how?" She asked.

"Just Believe and trust in me!... " He said and wink his eye on her

Jilliane didn't got his point, but she feel that there is something going to happen. She know Maurice... He is a carefree person and like Freddie, he has a bright personality... He can do what he wants, but he is a friend that you can count on.
