Chapter 43: Going back Home

That Morning, Roger woke up early, as he opened his eyes, he was surprised to see that Jilliane is "hugging" him. That gesture of hers strange him. He thought that maybe Jilliane mistaken him as her big pig stuffed toy Beethoven. He doesn't know why, but he enjoyed being hugged by her. He bites his lower lip while looking at her. After a short while Jilliane moved but still sleeping, turning around not facing him. He smiled and decides to get up. Leaving her still sleeping. He changed his clothes and left the room.

He saw Deaky and Brian already having breakfast.

"Where's Freddie?" He asked.

"He was at the barn, on his piano... He really wants to perfect that song of his..." Brian said.

"He woke up first?" He asked.

"Yeah!... He was not yet having his breakfast. He just only drank tea". Deaky said.

"Is Jilliane still sleeping?" Brian asked.

"Yeah...she is still sleeping" Roger replied. A moment later Freddie entered.

"Good Morning all you darlings!" He exclaimed.

"Good Morning..." Roger said.

"Is your princess still sleeping Rog?" Freddie asked.

"Yeah... She is... She can sleep everywhere... On the bench, on a couch, outside the house, inside the house, at the door, on her desk, and even on my room...and here!" Roger said. And the three laughed.

"What is it?" A sudden voice heard which the four of them turned their heads. It's Jilliane.

"Oh! Rog your princess already awoke without your kiss!" Freddie starts to tease them

"Good Morning!" Jilliane said to them with a smile.

"Good Morning" Brian and Deaky said.

"Good Morning darling!" Freddie said.

Roger only looks at her. A strange look. And never said anything.

"Come here darling and have breakfast with us! Rog assist your princess! Serve her!" Freddie said.

"Here... Come here..." Roger said to her having his sit for her. Jilliane sat on his place and thanked him.

Roger gave her a tea and bread. And sat beside her. Once again she was startled on her feelings for this guy. She ate her breakfast quietly while listening to the conversation of the band. She looked at Roger intimately, she was amazed to him while he is talking with his band mates. She cannot hear him on what he is saying, for she only wants to look at him and not to pay attention on what he is saying anymore. There were times Roger accidentally looked at her and she was the first to take away her eyes on him. And she hopes that he doesn't mind it.

She just listen to the rehearsal of the band. That time they were rehearsing John's song "You're My Best friend" at first they are rehearsing it smoothly, suddenly Roger stopped playing his drums in which they were surprised.

"What is that lyric?" Roger said annoyingly.

"I'm happy at home" Freddie said.

"So I was not mistaken when I saw the lyrics sheet!" Roger said.

"Is there anything wrong with the lyric?" Brian asked.

" I fuckin' hate that lyric! How could anyone be happy at home?! For fuck's sake this is rock and roll! What's this... A women's institute?!" Roger yelled.

"Well I think that lyric I made was more better than your song." John said.

"And what are you trying to say John?!" Roger's tone is becoming high. Now tension is felt around. Jilliane became aware that Roger and John would argue about it.

"You know it exactly Roger!.. to think of what are you exactly doing with a car?!" John said also quite annoyed now.

"I already told you about it... It's a fuckin' metaphor! Do you have a problem with me John?" Roger is yelling now

"Stop it Rog! Don't make such fuckin' things an issue!" Freddie stopped Roger.

"I do not have any problem with you Roger but it is you who are having a problem here! If you do not like it then don't listen...not any one here is obliging you to do so!" John said with a stress.

" Yeah right! I would probably not listen to that shit lyric! And never expect me to play my drums with that!" Roger yelled and walked out the barn. Leaving behind the rest of the band and Jilliane.

" And that was him! Having another hysterical manner!" John said.

" Why are all of you wasn't used about Roger's behavior? You know he was our hysterical Queen". Freddie said lighting his cigarette. "I am sorry Jilliane darling! But that was your "husband"... He was always like that when he doesn't want something!" Freddie said to Jilliane.

" Yes...Freddie, you're right, i already know that... He was also acting on me like that everyday...so i was used to it" she said. "But where is he going?"

"We don't know... We just only let him do what he want when he is mad... Don't worry he will not go away... Tomorrow his anger will subside and he will continue to rehearse..." Brian said to her.

Jilliane only looked at Brian but she was in a bit worried . She was afraid Roger totally back out the rehearsal and will not do the recording at all.

"Believe me Jilliane... We know him ..." Brian said to her with a smile guaranteeing that it will happen.

"Anyways as Roger walked out today's rehearsal maybe we will continue doing this tomorrow!" Freddie said while inhaling his ciggie.

John, and Brian took off their guitars on their shoulders and put it into place and walks out of the barn. As about Freddie is going out too Jilliane called him.

"Ahhmmm... Freddie..." She said.

"What is it darling?" He turned around his head to look at her and smiled.

"What do you think of what had just happened lately?... What do you think why Roger acted like that?" Jilliane asked.

Freddie became a bit serious and he was silent fir a bit moment and looked at her.

" Well... I don't think i could tell you about this but... After all he was your husband .. and as his wife... You need to know something about him." Freddie said to her.

Jilliane became curious on what Freddie said.

"I think the mere reason why he acted like that was his own family..."

"His family... Why?" She asked.

"Well... He told me that... His parents were separated . His mother remarried again... Now she was Mrs. Hitchens and not Taylor anymore. He hated John's lyric "happy at home" because he did not experienced happiness on his own home... He was a product of a broken family ... And...even experienced domestic violence... That's why he also hates his ancestral family name "Meddows" because of his father". Freddie said seriously.

Jilliane was shocked to hear it from Freddie. She cannot believe that Roger experienced it. And maybe that is the reason why Roger's behavior is rough. She felt pity for him, and she aso felt that she needs to fill what is lacking on Roger...and that is her love.

"Oh... I never knew about this... I am sorry..." She said.

"You don't need to say sorry darling! You are out of it! Roger is Roger he is strong... And the past is already done... What you must do now... Is to fill him with love..." Freddie said.

"What?...fill him with..." She said

"Your love darling!" Freddie smiled.

"But why me? You all know that we were only married because of a contract...and not because of love" she said.

"I believe you are the only one who can do it... Not us... Not others..." Freddie said to her and left the barn.

Jilliane was the only one left inside the barn thinking of what Freddie said and why did he say it. After a while she decides to prepare herself to go home.
