He took a deep breath.

Kelly was at the scene of a fire with victims stuck inside. Of course all of Kelly's victims were important, but this was different. Not only was there a little boy stuck inside, but you were, too. Kelly Severide's girlfriend.

"Chief, let me go in there. I know-" "not on my watch, Severide! You aren't risking your life," Chief Boden yelled. Kelly nervously hit his lip as the building continued to burn. There were members of engine 81 in currently doing a sweep, but the building was burning too fast.

Inside, you found the little boy and ran into a random apartment bedroom. You closed the door to hold back the fire as much as possible. You ran into the bathroom with the coughing child, and dunked two towels into water and squeezers them damp before tying one to his face then one to your own. "This will help you breathe, okay? Keep it on your face," you told him over the loud sound of fire destroying everything.

You ran from the bathroom to the bedroom, and placed the boy in the corner telling him to stay put. He nodded, crying but obeying your orders. You grabbed about 6 or 7 bed sheets, tying them corner to corner tightly before tying one to the bottom of the bed. You tugged it to make sure it was secure before you kicked the window out. Your hand began to bleed, by you ignored it before you threw the end of the bedsheet rope outside the window.

"Come on, get on my back, close your eyes tight and hold on!" You told him, seeing the fire burn through the door. The boy clang to you as you climbed over the window sill. You tried not to look down, knowing you have an extreme fear of heights.

"Chief, Y/N is in there!" Kelly yelled, earning stares from surrounding firefighters. They knew you and Kelly had been together for a little over two years, so of course you'd been by the fire house to meet everyone. You'd grown close to them, especially Stella Kidd and Sylvie Brett. They stood impatiently at ambulance 61, after taking care of any other victims.

Chief sighed then nodded. "Go in there with engine but when I tell you to come out, you do!" Kelly pulled his mask on and ran inside. He called for you over and over, but after two minutes, Boden yelled for the team to retreat. Kelly cursed as he ran outside. The building collapsed as tears filled his eyes.

He fell to his knees, crying loudly and not caring who heard. Kelly loves you so much and couldn't stand the thought of losing you. There were firefighters around who watched with looks a sadness and disappointment. "Wait! Y/N?" You slowly stumbled from around the building with the child on your back.

"Y/N, oh my goodness," Kelly engulfed you in a hug as the kid went to his parents. "You're okay. I love you so much," he told you as Kidd and Brett began to tend to you. "I love you, too," you breathed out with a smile.
