I literally skipped to school I was so excited. Freddie was here, well he will be landing soon. We were told to all meet in our schools main hall so that is where is skipped to. As I went in I saw Anita with a few of her friends. I walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hey John, how are you?" She gave me a cuddle

"Not bad. I'm buzzing!" I giggled, "how are you?" I returned the question

"Couldn't be better" she smiled brightly

"Good. Any idea what time they are coming?" I asked

"Mr Vale said just before you came in that they are going to arrive sooner than first expected. Possibly half an hour from now" Anita explained

"Ok" my heart was pounding - I was going to see Freddie!!

"Don't scream the place down when Freddie comes in" Anita whispered in my ear

"I think you've got me mixed up with Roger" I whispered back. We stood there chuckling to ourselves when Mr Vale stood up on the stage.

"Hey kids! I've been informed that the exchange students have just arrived in school. Can you please some and sit down on the left hand side of the room." Mr Vale pointed to the chairs

We all went and sat down. I sat in the end of a row so I could see everyone walking in.

The exchange students then all came in to the hall, smiling and waving. I looked at every single student, I was trying to find Freddie, I must have missed him. I couldn't carry on looking as we had to face forwards because Mr Vale and Mr Hassan were talking.

"Great to see you again!" Mr Vale beamed

"Wonderful to see you too" Mr Hassan smiled

"Ok students. Soon we will get you into your pairs and you can go around and give them a tour of the school" Mr Vale said. I have to show Freddie our secret area where me, Roger, and Brian eat our lunch.

"Find your pair!" Mr Hassan declared

I got up and looked around for Freddie, where the hell was he? He wasn't anywhere. I went up to Anita.

"Have you seen Freddie?" I asked quietly trying not to panic, but I was

"No. Ask Mr V, he could get his attention" Anita suggested

I nodded as I walked away. Behind me I could hear Anita greeting her exchange, Meena. I got up on to the stage and went up to Mr Vale.

"Sir, I can't find Freddie" I said, looking up at the tall teacher

"Uh, come with me and Mr Hassan for a minute" Mr Vale said

I followed Mr Vale and the much shorter teacher, Mr Hassan to behind the stage. I was beginning to worry, this place is completely out of sight from everyone - why would they bring me here if we are looking for Freddie?

"I'm afraid Freddie didn't make it" Mr Hassan said

My legs collapsed beneath me and Mr Vale, knowing about my trip to hospital, crouched down beside me. He put his hand on my shoulder.

"Didn't make what?" My mind was foggy

"The flight" Mr Vale said

"So, he's ok?" I quizzed

"He is perfectly fine. There was just trouble with his passport and we had to go without him. He should arrive tonight though- 9:30pm" Mr Hassan explained

I sighed a huge sigh of relief, I thought he was dead front he way they were talking. Although, I was disappointed. I really wanted to see Freddie and this only made me pine for him more. But at least I know he is alright.

I held my side as a burst of pain hit me. It must have been because I just collapsed in the floor.

"Why don't you go home John?" Mr Vale put his spare hand on top of mine where I was holding my side

"I-ok" I nearly protested, but I knew it was for the best. I could rest up and tell my parents about Freddie. We could all go down to the airport tonight.

"Alright. Do you need a hand?" Mr Vale put his hand out to help me up. I gladly took it and hoisted myself up.

"Thank you Sir" I smiled weakly

"Don't mention it" he patted my back, "I'll inform the office you're going home. Just go straight home"

"Alright" I nodded before walking out of the hall

I walked out of the school gates and down the street to my house. Everything was completely different from this morning. I was skipping, the sun was out, people were around and happy. Now I was dragging my feet along the pavement, dark clouds have prevented the sun from shining, and nobody was around making me feel lonely whilst on the streets.
