The Hierarchy

One week after the first day

Phoenix's POV

Phoenix taps lightly on her desk with her peach fingertips, leaning on her right arm, extremely bored. Her black hair lays on the polished wooden desk, fit for one person. She stares at the window and notices that it is a bright day outside. However, she prefers rainy and dark days compared to this day.

She tries hard to listen to the lesson about physics but fails as she easily gets bored during class. Moreover, Xyra, a girl with white hair tied up into a side ponytail on the left side of her hair is one of the troublemakers in the class. She spits out crumpled pieces of paper through thin straws at people as she is bored. One of the shots is aimed directly at Ares, a guy with red, fluffy side swept hair who's considered the 'Tyrant Prince' of the school as he is one of the rich kids who acts like a brat in the school.

Annoyed, Ares stands up and walks towards Xyra with his maroon uniform, towering over her. His u-necked white shirt is tight enough to the point that the lines of his chest are visible. With his intense eyes, he stares at her.

"Your best option at the moment is to stop. You wouldn't want to anger me, wouldn't you?" He crosses his arms with a cocky expression, his prominent collar bones visible.

In Phoenix's point of view, it does not seem as if Ares is mad but it is quite obvious that he's annoyed. Xyra crosses her arms behind her head and leans back on her desk. "Fine, it doesn't matter to me especially," she mumbled as she eats her pink lollipop.

Suddenly, everyone starts covering their ears as the physics teacher destroys people's ears with a high pitched sound in order to silence everyone. "Can you kids stop! You're supposed to be acting smart since you're in the second best rank of intelligence. What is this insolence that you guys are showing?" The physics teacher who is in his mid-thirties scolds Phoenix's classmates.

"Sorry, sorry." Ares waves his hand downwards repeatedly, acting like the teacher is overreacting. He takes his seat afterwards and the lesson continues.

I just wanna train. I'm bored.

Amethyst's POV

Unfortunately, Amethyst and Phoenix don't end up in the same class. Phoenix is Amethyst's only friend. She ponders, not knowing who to stick with.

In Amethyst's eyes, it seems as if Callista, a blonde haired girl with blue highlights, her newly assigned teammate, is a bit distant from her. In fact, everyone seems distant towards her except for a girl named Virgo, a pink haired girl who is very energetic and bubbly. But even so, she usually sticks with a brown-haired girl who wears round glasses, covering her orange eyes.

Amethyst stands up and quietly walks over to Callista. She takes a deep breath hoping she will not be awkward.
"Hello!" Amethyst speaks to Callista with a smile.

"Oh hi, you're Amethyst aren't you?" Callista asks looking into Amethyst's amethyst eyes sweetly. Amethyst stops tensing up, relieved by her smile.

"We should hang out sometime, after all, we're in the same team aren't we?" Amethyst suggests, wanting to get to know her. Agreeing with her suggestion, Callista nods, staring at her with her green eyes. Abruptly, the class starts to get excited for no apparent reason.
