Chapter 18

Day 2; Battle 5: Teams

Phoenix's POV

"The battle between Team OPCA and team IRKM will begin in a few seconds." The commentator says, counting down slowly.

As they prepare their weapons, Phoenix and Oasis continue to ignore each other, not making eye contact with one another.

"You know, we'll have to work together in order for us to actually win." Oasis explains glaring at her.

"I'll easily take them out." Phoenix turns around and glares back at Oasis as she puts on her rose gold goggles. A shadow of her battle axe appeared on Phoenix's back as it slowly materializes into an actual weapon. She swings it out and waits for the match to start.

"5 minutes has started, whoever has the biggest advantage wins. FIGHT!"

Callista begins, shooting with precise accuracy at the enemy, her arrows going straight at their weapons, disarming them. Amethyst backs her up, throwing short but sharp knives at the enemy.

With lightning speed, Oasis charges toward her enemy, her dark brown hair flowing into the wind. Quickly with precise accuracy gives a hard blow right at the enemy's stomach, causing them to fall onto their knees. In a split second, she takes out her twin guns, glowing pink and aims at the enemy. With a pull of a trigger, she shoots the enemy knocking them unconscious.

Next comes Phoenix, charging at the enemy. Quickly, Phoenix rushes towards the enemy with intent in her dark brown eyes.

In a flash, a figure seems to be rushing quickly towards her from the left. In an attempt to block the figure, she rushingly raised the handle of her axe in front of her. Suddenly, the figure and Phoenix both collide causing her to fall harshly right on her face.

The crowd becomes shocked and is certain that the fall was painful. Phoenix slowly looks up as she scratches her head, noticing Oasis whom has fallen in front of her as well. It is obvious that she was the reason why she fell. Still on the hot sand, Phoenix looks around the crowd and noticed they were all whispering and staring at her. She blushed from embarrassment.

In anger, she quickly gets up and scolds Oasis, "What the hell were you doing!?"

Oasis had never seen her flustered and angry, but it didn't stop her from arguing back. "I was trying to get to the other enemy! YOU'RE the one at fault here! Earlier, I screamed for you to move!" Oasis slowly gets up and pats away the sand from her legs.

"Do you not hear yourself? You're the one who ran into me like a maniac!" Phoenix shoves her harshly.

The enemy team was confused, however they knew this was the chance to take Team OPCA out.

"Could you guys just argue some other time? We're in the middle of a fight." Callista shouts, trying to lead their focus back to the enemy as she attempts to distract the opposition. Out of nowhere, an enemy dashes towards Callista.

Strongly, the enemy kicks her right on her stomach, sending a gust of wind across Phoenix and Oasis's face as she is flung across the room. Callista is surrounded by an intense wave of heat as the opponent hits her with fire.The crowd was in total shock, some even mocked Callista. They were in disbelief that the strongest freshman team was losing. The enemy smiles cockily as she snickers from Callista halfway losing consciousness.

In an attempt to get back up, Callista just falls back down another time, with a blur as her vision. She is unable to fight.

Meanwhile, Oasis and Phoenix continue to make a scene during the fight. "Why are you even our team leader? You're so weak compared to everyone! Look, Callista is already finished because you can't fight properly." Phoenix blocks a few bullets from hitting her with her axe, barely looking at the enemy.

"Uh, we're kind of in trouble here..." Amethyst chuckles nervously charging at the enemy with her sharp, white and blue patterned throwing blades. As she turns around, an enemy throws a flash bang of lightning towards her causing her amethyst eyes to be visually impaired temporarily. She begins coughing, soon after feeling another hard impact underneath her jaw along with a wave of electricity surrounding her, causing her to fall backwards. Amethyst is knocked out.

"Amethyst has been knocked out. Two remain." The commentator says with a neutral voice.

The fall of Amethyst finally snapped the eyes of Phoenix and Oasis open, causing them to face reality.

"Prove your worth, Oasis." With a slightly panicked face, Phoenix mumbles to Oasis.

"A-Alright." Oasis gulps knowing that it's a four against two battle.

Together, they rush to the enemy with Oasis holding her twin guns while Phoenix holds her dark axe.

Phoenix jumps, lifting her heavy axe in the air and hitting a smash on the enemy, the whole ground vibrating. Oasis on the other hand uses her martial arts skills, kicking and punching-finishing off her enemy with a knock on their nape with the gun.

"ROUND END, TEAM OPCA WINS!"
