The Corrupted Council

Aluna's POV

Aluna sits inside the luxurious student council room with her team, AXSX as they are also a part of the student body.
Aluna, the leader of the team and the president arranges a meeting with her teammates, Xyphia, Serena and Xyra.
Xyphia, the Vice President takes a seat beside Aluna, opposite of Serena and Xyra.

"I would like to be notified on the current status of the team OPCA." She entwines her hands together and places it on the white marble table. The other members are in other various positions.

"Currently, Oasis is taking heavy mental damage from the public. Callista is trying her best not to break by smiling. Amethyst's status is currently unknown as she is sleeping. Phoenix is the only one who's not taking any damage at the moment." Xyphia replies with all the info she dug up. Usually it would be the secretary to provide information but, they completely rely on themselves instead of using someone else to remember their plans and schedules.

"Why is Phoenix not reacting to the students?" Annoyed, Xyra asks as she pouts, slamming the table with her fist.

"Stop pouting, it's not cute." Harshly, Serena comments with a disgusted face.

"Remind me why Serena is a part of the student council? Moreover the school's enforcer! With a prissy attitude like that, I'd kick her out the moment she opened her mouth if I was the president." Xyra rolls her eyes, tired of Serena's unnecessary comments.

"Be quiet, it's all expected." With a serious tone, she reprimands the two squabling.

"It's expected? How?" Xyra asks another question, making a smug face on Serena.

"Remind me why Xyra is in the student council if she can't use her brain?" Chuckling, Serena asks, very amused as she leans on her chair. "She's the only one who doesn't get it."

"You be quiet!" Xyra shouts, standing up in defense, embarrassed. Suddenly, Aluna slams her fist on the table, loud enough for it to echo inside the room, silencing those around her.

"It's always fighting between you two. Is it impossible to have peace and quiet in this room when you guys are present?" The room goes silent from Aluna's scolding. Only Aluna could silence Serena and Xyra's mouth.

"Anyways, I expected Phoenix not to care from her performance yesterday as she stood against me. The reason why I allow it for now is to make negotiations." Aluna explains, trying to get information through Xyra's head. Xyra claps quietly, impressed with her plan.

"What kind of negotiations?"  Xyra asks one last question. The members start to get annoyed but they always remind themselves that there are always questions when it comes to Xyra.

"You'll see. Now, you all are dismissed." Aluna dismisses her question and allows  them to leave. They all leave except for Xyphia, still sitting down on her chair.

"I have dismissed you. Is something the matter?" Aluna tilts her head, wondering what Xyphia could possibly want.

"Are you sure you wanna do this." With a serious look, Xyphia stares at Aluna with her grey eyes. "I can always help you."

Aluna hesitates to reply for a moment. She isn't sure how to reply. After a few seconds of hesitation, she returns to her normal stare, fully aware of what's going to happen.

"Don't go against my authority, Xyphia. Learn your place." Harshly, Aluna commands, soon afterwards feeling guilty with what she said. But before she can explain, Xyphia replies to her command.

"I'm sorry for my insolence." Xyphia clenches her fist. She manages to hold in her anger and worries by keeping a stoic face. She stands up and bows respectfully, taking her leave. Aluna feels bad.

________

Phoenix's POV

Phoenix sits on a chair beside Amethyst's bed, waiting for her to wake up. She notices that it is almost time for lunch and that her stomach grumbles. However, she doesn't care as she is more worried about Amethyst. To Phoenix, Amethyst is like a sister to her, even if they aren't related.

I'm sorry that you ended up like this because of me.

"I told you not to make that depressing face." Amethyst whispers as she opens her eyes. She gets up and sits down on the bed, facing Phoenix. "How are you, are your wounds healed?"

Phoenix nods, not saying anything. She keeps an expressionless face making it seem as she doesn't care. However, her actions say so differently.

"Where's Callista and Oasis?" Amethyst mumbles, her eyes searching for the two.

"They had errands to run."

"Oh okay. What time is it?" Amethyst asks, searching for the clock.

"11:40. Let's get lunch?" Phoenix suggests, making Amethyst smile as Phoenix knows that she is a huge food lover. Phoenix offers her hand, helping Amethyst up. They both head out the infirmary shortly.

As Phoenix opens the door, she is suddenly bombarded by questions from students.
"How do you feel? Can you tell us what happened between you and the President? Why did you start a fight with the president?"

I didn't think people were this disrespectful, surrounding us like this when we just want to get lunch.

"If you'll excuse me, I am going to get food like a normal human being would." While Phoenix tries to escape the crowd, she is merely shoved back to the door, not being able to escape. Shocked by all the attention, Amethyst looks at Phoenix for an explanation on what's happening.

We can't talk our way out of this one. Not after they shoved us like that.

Phoenix signals Amethyst to grab her arm with her eyes. Without thinking twice, together, they run from the crowd, arms intertwined. Escaping the crowd as fast as they could, they both huff, losing their breath by the second.

Suddenly, they bump into a couple of students blocking them. As Phoenix tries to regain her balance, she notices that the student council members are present, with Aluna and Xyphia in the middle.

"Phoenix." With a stoic voice, Aluna calls her name.
