Chapter 16

Unexpected Meetings

~Roughly an hour and a half later~

Jian's POV

The last 20 matches had ended, the crowd began to gossip about the previous fights as they make their way into the cafeteria. They had a 5 minute break before another match starts. Jian walks into the cafeteria and tries to find a snack.

Suddenly, Jian's head smashes onto someone else's, causing them to both fall backwards onto the floor.

"Watch where you're going." With an annoyed face, the girl says.

Jian couldn't believe it, not because she was being rude, but because she reminded him of someone. He quickly chases after her and tapped her shoulder. She turns around with the same annoyed face as before.

"Hey, you're Horikita aren't you." Jian questions, staring passionately into her sea blue eyes.

Her face didn't change one bit.

"No, my name is Lunar." She replies in a firm voice.

"Are you sure? You remind me of someone I know." Jian's heart was racing.

"I apologize, but this Horikita you speak of, I don't know her." Lunar replies.

Jian kept his focus on her eyes. It intimidates her. He remembers the sea blue eyes Horikita has. His gaze shifts on the mole underneath her left eye.

"I know it's you." Jian's voice began to break as his eyes filled with tears. His heart was pounding out of his chest.

"Well, I'm not her. So if you'll excuse me, I have a match to go to." Lunar explains, obviously trying to ignore what he's saying.

"I've spent half of my life trying trying to forget your existence and you're telling me you're not Horikita? Where have you been all these years?!" He exclaims as his eyes are on the verge of tears. He looks away, trying his best to not break down.

For a split second, her expression wavers. But before Jian could reply, he is interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Jian? Are you okay?" A girl behind him tugs on his loose linen, buttoned down light blue shirt. He turns around quickly and sees Oasis. "Who were you talking to?" She asks.

Jian quickly turns his head back, to Lunar walking away from him. She wasn't in front of him anymore. She was gone within a blink of a second, heading towards Sol with a smile on her face.

"Hey? Is everything alright?" Oasis asks again worried for Jian. He wasn't paying attention as the noise around him slowly began to be inaudible.

Was it really her?

He ponders, gripping onto his black jeans.

Serena's POV

"The battle between Team SXLS and team YCLE will begin in a few seconds." The commentator says, counting down slowly.

"5 minutes has started, whoever has the biggest advantage wins. FIGHT!"

You all better not disappoint me now.

Serena smirks, holding her bullwhip—excited from the pain that she would cause soon. Showing confidence, she flips her blonde twin tailed curly hair, bounded by the thin fabric of her laced ribbons.

"I'll lead." She turns around to Lunar and Sol, smirking with a confident face.

I'll show them who's the leader of this school.
