Lindsey's pov 👩 :
I woke up to a strange noise. I sit straight up and look around. Good, Jesse's awake too.
"Did you hear that Jess???" I whisper.
"Yeah..." He replies.
"What do you think it was??!!"
"I don't know.."
"Well what do we do??" I asked starting to panic.
"Calm down. It'll be okay. We have to stay quiet and calm."
How do I stay calm when there's God knows what outside our treehouse!!!??? How is he so calm??!!?Jesse's pov 👦 :
We have to stay calm, what if this thing can sense fear? I don't know what to do. I walk over to the small window, brush the shade aside a little bit and look out. Nothing. I see absolutely nothing. I look on the other side. Still, nothing. What is this thing and where is it??
"I'm going to go check it out okay? Stay with Malory." I say to Lindsey as confident as possible. I can't let her know I'm terrified. What if this thing attacks me??
"What no!" She whisper shouts. What if this thing attacks you!?? Jess no!"
"It'll be fine Linds. I promise. I'm just gonna go check it out and I'll be right back in, okay?" I say trying to be brave. Well, here goes nothing. I grab a pan as my only defense and walk towards the door. I turn the cold door handle and open the door just enough to peek out. Nothing. I open it a little farther and still see nothing. I open the door all the way and take one step out. I look both ways. Nothing. I look down. Nothing. I look up. Nothing. What on earth was that sound then??
