Jesse's POV 👦:
I climb back up the ladder and go back inside.
"It's just me!" I call so the girls don't freak out.
"It's okay, there's nothing out there." I said confidently. "I looked all around the treehouse and in bushes and there's nothing. So no worries, we'll be okay."
"Good, I'm hungry!" Said Malory.
"Of course you are Mals." Lindsey giggled.
"Let's go eat then!" I said opening the door.
Malory skipped ahead of us a little bit and Lindsey and I walked side by side.
We picked some berries and came across a lake. So we caught a fish and brought it back to the treehouse to cook it. On the way back to the treehouse though I noticed some resources we were not taking advantage of. I found an apple tree and some fallen trees and branches we could use. We each picked a big, red, juicy apple to eat with our fish. I'll go back there later to collect some wood and more apples.
"Bon appetite!" I say after making sure the fish is properly cooked over our fire that was still crackling.
"Finally!" Malory cheers.
"I'll go get some water." I say and start heading up the wooden ladder to the treehouse. I grab 3 Deer Park waters and head back down.
"Here ya go!" I give them each a water.
"Mmm. It's good!" Malory says.
"It is." Agrees Lindsey.Lindsey's POV 👩:
The aroma of the fire fills the air. I always loved the wood burning smell. I wonder where he learned to cook. I take a bite of the juicy apple which tastes really good as well.
"I'm booorrrredd!" Complained Malory.
"Okay let's play a game!" Jesse suggests. "Oooh how bout red light green light."
"Okay! You call it."
"Okay. Ready? Red light!" I say.
Malory takes a step and realizes her mistake.
"Silly he said RED" I say smiling.
"I knoooww!" She whines.
"Green light!"
The game continues and Malory wins.
"Go Malory!" Jesse cheers as he high gives her. "Awesome job girl!"
He's so good with kids. Malory had no reason to be scared of him like she was at first.
