Meliodas
He just stood there looking at her. That was his mother laying there after all. He had no idea how on earth he was supposed to react. He just stood there feeling numb as his youngest brother cry. Yet, his oldest one just looked at his mother looking pale. His father however, began crying heavily just looking at his wife. He tried to stand strong but, continued sobbing which everyone knew he had been holding in for so long. No one dare say anything to him.
In fact all he could hear is his dad's sobbing. He listened to him sob silently trying to comfort his kids but, could hardly talk through the tears. Each person who talked sounded like a muffled voice. All he could hear was crying and all he could see was his dead mother's face. That was when the thoughts slowly started to enter his head again.
"It should have been you." The voice screamed in his ear. "She had two other sons to live for. She had a loving husband. She had friends. You have less and yet you're still alive while she will be put in the ground in two hours."
The voice just got louder and louder. All he could hear was the crying as he began so shake. Eventually all he could hear was the voice rather than the sobbing. He began to shake as the thoughts began to take a toll on him. All he could think was how he wanted to be with his mom. He just wanted her to hug him one last time. Just to hug her close and near her voice one more time. Maybe even have her whisper just a hi one last time.
"It's not your fault." Morgana whispered resting her head against his shoulder, holding his hand. His eyes began to fill with tears as he clung onto that had desperately.
"It's your fault. You should be dead. She had so much to live for. Y-"
"She loved you Mel. You know it....She would want you hear to comfort your family." Morgana whispered drowning out the voice. She was teary eyed looking at the body of the women whom had always excepted her as if she was her own daughter. Meliodas nodded and just looked down.
"Maybe the world would be better without you. You should take your father's gun a-"
"I-"Morgana's voice cracked a bit. She was in tears again. "I don't know how we could last without you. I-I kNow your must be hurt. Don't hold it in...it's not gonna help to hold it In." Her voice cracked more as she spoke. He just looked emotionlessly at his mom's body as the coffin close.
The second it closed, he broke. He began sobbing as he clung onto his friend's hand. He sniffled and sobbed. His mom was gone for good now. That was all he could keep thinking as the coffin was taken away. The second it was gone he found himself being hugged by Morgana, his dad, his brother's, Star, Pidge and Ban, who he was pretty sure was sober for once.
It didn't get any better when he got home.
Lance
"Hi.."Lance mumbled as the door opened. Meliodas's older brother just stood in the doorway. He looked numb as Lance carefully handed him the container full of cookies he had made with Hunk.
"I'm sorry I'm late. I know the wake ended an hour ago." Lance sighed glancing up once which was a mistake. He saw the other male's eyes get large before he looked down again.
"How..how'd your eye get bruised like that?" The older male asks slowly. Lance but his lip looking at his feet.
"My aunt found out I like boys and girls...she said it was for attention. Then she just.....she beat me while mom and dad were at work..I..she threw my stuff outside and yelled for hours...I...she told my parents I started to do drugs and they,,they won't speak to me....I....Look it's no big deal. I'm fine now. Hunk's mom is letting me stay in their house for a while..i-"
"Dad we got another one!" The male yelled over his shoulder.
The next thing he knew Meliodas's dad had talked to him out on their deck about a better place to live. He offered him a home here for a while since Hunks as moving across town soon. It was more than he could bare, next thing he knew Lance started to tear up. It was embarrassing to say the least.
"Don't hold it in. If you do it's only gonna get worse. I learned that today." Mel's dad smile. Lance smiled a bit while crying before hugging him. The older man held him and let him sob for as long as he needed. It felt like hours before he stopped crying. And when he did it was only because he saw Morgana, whom his aunt said ran off to go meet her birth parents.
Needless to say he cried harder again afterwards.
