-Chapter 38-

AVA'S POV

"What?" I asked my voice laced with nervousness. I was scared of what Jackson was gonna say. He is never this happy and stuff. Unless his mom made her famous pasta, then he's jumping off the walls screaming.
"We're going to the carnival!" He said excitedly. I looked over at Payton, who had the same face as me. I slowly turned back to Jackson and nodded, slowly still confused.
"Ok?" I said. "And your really excited because..?" He opened his mouth and squealed.
"with Aly and Riley!" As soon as the words left his lips Payton sprung up and grabbed my hand.
"What?!" He yelled, almost angrily.
"Well Aly wanted to see you again and meet Ava so I said that would be a great idea! And she asked if she could be a friend so I was like ya! And so she's bringing her friend Riley and-"
"Jackson stop!" Paytons said interrupting Jackson. He sighed and looked down at me biting his lip.
"Don't u remember the last time we were with aly?" He asked looking back at Jackson, who nodded his head.
"She was a complete jerk." Payton said squeezing my hand. I could tell he was frustrated but I didn't know what to do.
"Don't say that about her! The only person who is being a complete jerk is you." Jackson said taking a step closer to Payton. I decided to break this Feud between them and stood up abruptly, standing right between them.
"Thankyou for the suggestion Jackson, Payton and I will talk about it." I said, before walking away dragging Payton with me. I heard Payton murmur something under his breath but I couldn't hear. I just sighed and walked up the stairs before walking into his room and shutting the door behind us, locking it in the process.

"Payton it's alright." I said as he started pacing around his room, whispering swear words under his breath.
"No it's not!" He said running a hand through his hair. I but my lip as I looked at him. I'll admit he was very attractive when he was stressed out and mad.
"Payton." I said standing up and walking towards him. He turned towards me and looked at me. I smiled at him and leaned in, whispering in his ear.
"It'll be alright. We can avoid them and have fun by ourselves." I said pulling away. He smiled and nodded.
"Ya, we can avoid them. I just don't Wannna...leave Jackson alone with-.. them." He said. I nodded and chuckled.
"I don't know why he set this up. I don't really wanna meet this Aly girl." I said smiling. He laughed and hugged me.
"I know, I don't want you to meet her her either." I smiled again and went and laid down on the bed. Payton came and laid beside me, wrapping his arms around me. I snuggled into him as we relaxed and talked for a while.

"Goodnight Ava." Payton said kissing my forehead and bringing me closer into his embrace.
"Goodnight Payton, I love you." I said closing my eyes.
"I love you too." He breathed out, as we both fell asleep holding eachother.

I opened my eyes and groaned from the sudden light shining through the window. I rolled over and saw Payton snuggled into his pillow, one of his arms draped over my waist. I chuckled and kissed his nose before slipping out of his grasp and walking into the bathroom.

I took a quick shower before changing into some lazy clothes, which consisted of some sweatpants and a green hooded crop top before sitting back on the bed. I rested my head on my pillow and grabbed my phone. I was scrolling through insta when I got a DM. I opened and looked at who it was from.

Aly.
