𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚

Birthday pt. 2

You continued working through lunch. Yami had confronted you about it many times, but you shoed him off saying he did the same. You were hoping to arrive home early to dress up. The evening quickly rolled around. Yami offered to drive you home again, but you insisted on walking. Ripping off your heels, you actually ran home. You were so excited for tonight you just couldn't resist. You showered and slipped into a purple dress. You left your makeup neutral. By the time you finished doing your hair, Yami was already waiting for you outside,

"Yo yo homie joe! Come on in let me slip my heels on"

As you ran back into your room, Yami took the time to look at your apartment. It wasn't too much but it wasn't too little. He found your baby pictures on the wall quite adorable.

"Yami are you looking at my pictures"

You marched into view after catching the spike-haired male. He lightly chuckled,

"You look adorable in these"

You grabbed your phone before walking to the door,

"You should show me yours and Yugi's"

Yami felt frightened at the thought. He would never show them to you. It's not that he wasn't cute, it's just... he wasn't as confident as he was now,

"We'll see"

Upon arrival to the restaurant, Yami surprised you with Mai and Joey. The restaurant was said to have the best Sushi in domino city. Yami watched you eat delightfully. You were so happy. He felt relieved.

Mai had a small debate with Joey over the best sushi, in which you chuckled at. As you felt a particular gaze on you, you slowly stopped eating to look up. Yami was leaning on his arm with his head on his palm. His eyes gleamed brightly through his long lashes. You blushed in embarrassment,

"Y-Yami? A-are you alright?"

His smile was so beautiful and genuine,

"Im just very content"

You smiled brightly at him,

"How can you be so happy when you haven't eaten?"

He rubbed his neck sheepishly. He was so caught up in your beauty, he forgot to eat. Although he really yearned to feel your skin against his, the time wasn't ready. Mai and Joey stared at him expectingly. They wanted to come to celebrate your birthday, but they also wanted to witness the chemistry between you two. Mai decided to handle the conversation seeing how flustered Yami was,

"Wow (y/n), you're finally 20! How do you feel about that?"

It was your turn to rub your neck sheepishly,

"It's awesome. Yet I feel kinda old"

"If ya do you should ask Mista Yami over here how he feels about being 20"

Yami glared at Joey. Joey was a bit scared of him when he was mad, so he backed up.  You and Mai began laughing. Festivities continued until 9 pm. Mai and Joey decided to head home as they were tired from work. You were pretty tired too, so Yami drove you home. As you stepped out of the car, you made your way over to his side,

"Thank you for tonight Yami. I really enjoyed it. I wish I could repay you somehow"

Yami leaned in closely. The tension between the two of you was incredibly thick. The feeling of his breath against your neck made you feel light-headed,

"You don't have to repay me. As long as you're happy I'm happy"

You softly smiled before sharing a longing gaze with one another. You pulled away as he started his car,

"I'll see you tomorrow"

He slowly backed out of the driveway, while sending you a small wave,

"I'll see you too"

This time, you watched him leave. You were 100% sure you were in love.
