Damn.

You walked into work the next day feeling upset. You avoided Yami as much as possible. As you filed the papers, your speakerphone rang,

"(Y/n), May I see you for a moment?"

You and Mai looked at each other shocked. You stood, opening the double doors before sliding in,

"Yami how can I help you?"

You held eye contact for a few seconds before he spoke. You knew he picked up on your mood,

"Sit. I need to speak with you"

You sat down in the chair in front of him. His orbs raked across your features. He knew something was up with you,

"What's wrong?"

You played with your hands,

"Nothing. I'm just having a rough day"

Yami knew you very well. He picked up on your actions after watching over you for so long. Your confident and determined attitude made him feel like you could relate to him. Your eyes sparkled beautifully when you spoke about something you had passion for. He enjoyed being around you as you made him laugh constantly.

Yami himself was not the funny type and having someone who was, made him feel blessed. He cared deeply for you. Yami would love to tell you how he felt, but the time was not right just yet.

He knew you were lying about the situation at hand, but he decided he'd let you be,

"Well, I wanted to ask you if you would come with me to an event. I need a partner and so does Yugi. I thought you'd be great for it as I trust you best"

You thought of the mystery person he loved. Why wouldn't he take her? There were so many other women who were after him.

"I don't think I can do it. Do you have anyone else who could help?"

Yami held your gaze as you tried to look away. He just wouldn't let you. He spoke confidently, allowing his deep voice to be heard,

"I do. But I want you to be with me"

You raised your eyebrows to mask your surprise. It was strange to you that he wanted you to go. You assumed it was because you were his secretary. You thought for a second before agreeing,

"Okay. I'll do this favor for you. You owe me okay?"

The male chuckled before gazing at you fondly,

"Of course"

You couldn't help but let a small smirk cross your features. Anytime you saw him laugh, you felt at bliss.

"Bye bye"

You walked towards the double doors before he called after you,

"I'll send you something to wear for the occasion. Don't worry about it"

"Thank you Yami"

"Also, please don't be upset. I want to see a smile on your beautiful face"

You shut the doors before you could look at him. Your face blended into a light pink. Yami never complimented you like this. Maybe he was just happy.

Mai smirked at you,

"I heard all of that you know"

You sighed before eyeing the woman,

"I know you did"

As you continued your paperwork, a big smile made its way on your face while Mai cheered happily over Yami's compliment to you.
