The way you are

You quietly hummed a song to yourself as you got ready for the night. You wanted to look your very best. You showered briefly, shaving and taking care of everything before hopping out. To get yourself extra pumped for the night, you wore black lace underneath your dress. You weren't planning on getting laid, but you just felt ten times hotter this way. You slid on a black simple dress. You were adjusting your heels when a knock resounded from the door. You checked the time just to make sure you weren't running late. Nah, you had an hour left. Quickly you rushed over wondering who it may be. As soon as you opened, you were attacked by a figure with blond hair,

"Hi (y/n)! Let me help you get ready"

You glared at Mai. She scared the hell out of you. You were about to retaliate when you noticed the makeup box she was carrying. You instantly felt bad. You weren't going to say no when she wasted her efforts to come all this way,

"Fineee. Just know I finished getting dressed"

Mai seated you in front of your room desk. She pulled out her face mirror while turning on the light on it. You briefly closed your eyes as you adjusted to the brightness. Mai looked at the time before pulling on some gloves. You glanced at the women flustered. Just what is exactly was she going to do to you?

"Okay, we have 45 minutes left. Now don't move. Its time to make him faint"

You chuckled before fixing your posture.

After many painfully long minutes, Mai handed you the mirror to look at yourself. You looked pretty natural. Eyeliner always seemed to do wonders for you. Your eyebrows were shaped out to look natural. Some red matte lipstick was added on for a touch. You stood up, gleefully hugging the women,

"Thank you so much, Mai. I look pretty good"

The blond softly scoffed at you,

"What do you mean 'pretty good?' you look amazing! Yami's going to have a hard time containing himself"

You chuckled while fixing your jewelry,

"Has he always been distant from everyone?"

Mai packed her brushes away,

"Yes. Apart from our friend group, some others are included, but Yami was never very close to anyone except his brother. He's always been pretty forlorn if you ask me"

You crossed your arms in thought,

"I see"

"He's always been like that until you came around. He's started hanging out with us a lot more thanks to you. He's even closer to Yugi than ever before now. You helped him get out of his shell a bit (y/n). I feel like he's starting to enjoy life as he should"

You softly smiled at her words,

"I don't believe that"

"Of course you don't"

You both laughed before getting up and stretching. You picked up your phone realizing it was 7:56 pm. You looked at the text Yami sent you 20 minutes ago,

Yami<3: I'm on my way beautiful.

You smiled at the pet name. He rarely used pet names on you. It seemed to only happen on special occasions. Your thoughts were interrupted when you heard a knock. Mai quickly ran to open the door for you. Yami looked up in surprise, before masking it,

"Hello there Yami. You must be looking for Mrs. (y/ln) yes? Here she is then"

Mai swiftly shoved you onto him. Yami gently held onto your arms to steady you. You blushed at the close proximity,
