We all walked in, hand in hand with our significant others. Besides Daniel, he hasn't found his one yet but I'm sure he will soon. The place was fancy, delicate. Zach had just turned eighteen, hence the main reason we came here tonight.
People were dancing, some were eating, others were chatting away with each other. It looks like a high school dance.
Zach shook a few hands, saying thank you as they wished him a late happy birthday. I even said hello to some, to the ones that even noticed I was there. I looked down at the dress I was wearing; a slim black dress that stopped at my lower thigh, black heels, an a diamond bracelet and necklace set. My hair was in an up-do, covered in layers of hair spray. My makeup was made to look perfect, 'a stunning model' Zach would say.
A few people called them over to talk, leaving us girls for ourselves. Tate's make-up was beautiful, Gabbie's dress was breathtaking, and Christina's hair laid nicely on her shoulders.
I took another look at myself, then looked at everyone else here. I don't belong here. I haven't worn a dress since eighth grade graduation, now a senior in high school.
I quickly got up, leaving to go back to the car. I packed a set of my clothes incase I needed them and clearly, I did need them. I took them back inside, heading right to the bathroom. I took off the dress, slipping on my sweatshirt and skinny jeans.
I tried wiping as much of the makeup off as possible, pulling out all the bobby-pins in my hair. I put on my converse, ready to walk out when I heard someone calling my name. Zach.
I knew the girls would've told them I up and left. "Y/N? Where are you?" He called again. I sighed, stepping out of the bathroom. I tied the bag that had the dress and shoes in tight, looking sadly at Zach. "What's wrong? Why'd you take the dress off?" He scanned me up and down.
"I don't belong here Zach. I'm not like the other girls. I don't wear dresses and skirts. I don't like having my hair done. I just don't fit in." I threw my hands around.
"Baby," He laughed, "I know you're not like them. You're perfectly you. I have extra clothes in the car I could change into. We could get outta here and head back to the house and watch movies. Whatever you're down for, I'm down too."
He loosened his tie, pulling off the jacket of his suit. "Come on," He smirked, pulling my out to the car. He changed quickly, speeding off to the house.
